Swizz got some bangers though. Not everything he did landed but he got enough joints that go for me to understand why he is successful.

And yeah Dee and Wah was his uncles, but Swizz’s run far outlasted Ruff Ryders and a lot of his bigger hits ain’t even with Ruff Ryders artists, so you can’t just say his success was nepotism. Them being his uncles got his foot in the door, but he put in alot of work.

Swizz is great because when he produces a record, he is also an artist and performer on the record as well.
99% of producers cant do that. He comes up with a lot of great hooks as well.

It makes up for his lack of technical ability so to speak.

He aint in my top 10, but its a very rare skill when a producer can be an artist on a record as well. Almost all of the greats have that in common (Dre, timbaland, pharrell).

Swizz forced himself to the elite class of producers because my god he’s ass :mjlol:

he got some shyt that’s good but majority of his beats are humid dumpster juice.

I’ll never forget twisted heat…. shyt sounds like a bunch of computers having a party interacting with each other :mjlol:

I turned off vol. 2 right after that and didn’t play the remaining of the album til a day later :dead:

I turned the song on real quick to listen to it and I had to fight myself from hollering at work cause you not lying

The hate is saddening.
There's nothing bizarre about his success.
Any producer that creates the backdrop for a successful label, brand, crew etc has done their job.
He helped create stars.
Produced multiple multi plat projects.
And when the crew he helped get popping fell off, he stayed popping.
Which shows, he's really DAT nikka.
ICONIC.

Salute to Swizz....the hustle is unrivaled by many. PK and Dame Grease had better beats, but not the same connections. He politics well. I always felt his stuff was overrated, but not always just pure trash. Plus who he had spitting over his beats was the perfect marriage at times. DMX and Jay....how can you go wrong. Arguably the two biggest stars in the game.

Not even a top 20 producers.

He owes his carreer to nepostism.
nepotism plus networking

swizz is a natural salesman

he sold a lot of terrible beats and was on the hooks hyping them up. we bought into the hype. on a technical level he very well may be ass but that didn't stop him from capturing some highlights a long the way. from the first time i heard his production i could only describe it as jarring. definitely an overachiever and exemplary of what hustle can do when talent isn't present.
