at the end of the day...that entire inbound sequence should have been shut down by the refs...either the toe on the line or the elbow...that ball should have never made it on the court...

Refs was bad the entire sequence foot on the line, waiters elbow, Durant getting fouled on his catch. They let them "play"

If you're a ref standing right there you should be looking for all of that. It's their job. The elbow doesn't even happen if the ref makes that call. Mr Clean fukked up

The inbound passer will be told to hold his spot and cannot run from that spot. He is allowed a three-foot cushion both directions, which essentially enables a step to pass the ball inbounds. The defense cannot reach across the out of bounds line and touch the ball or the passer. The defense cannot touch the ball until it comes into the court of play
