Took a lot of years of trial and error to be honest. I had a strict filter and would approach dating with a purpose. In the meantime I was working on myself, which in addition to being a good thing to do overall, makes you even MORE attractive to someone else.

At an old job I saw a dude arguing hard with his girl in the parking lot as she was a worker there. He's saw me and stopped and left. Couple months later, he broke her nose and closed her eyes shut. That was in 2016. A friend just told me they finally broke up last week. Our sistas been making bad choices for the past 30+ years.
That's the discussion that women need to discuss within their sisterhood tho

I guess this might be a cultural thing, cause protecting women regardless of relation is a thing. But the first ones to do so are direct family members i.e. the husband or man of the house (head of the household). Protection comes from patriarchal values. If you don’t believe in their values then protection is hypocritical because you are reinforcing a system you don’t believe in.
I think they want the type of protection white women, or even Asian women, get. People will stop and protect them way before they before they'll help a black woman out. A little white girl missing, News coverage.

What concerns me is that I feel like as if this generation is trying to separate black people in general. For example: black women and black men. Blacks in on average are on the bottom totem pole of the racial wage gap, so of course the quality of our living wont be as good as others. Black women and men are dying out there. I just wish they stop placing just black men as the root.
