I was about to go jump in the shower but now y'all got a breh's wheels turning on this topic, and I had to sit down and type.

Chelsea, while I appreciate your opinions, I can't help but feel that you're purposely ignoring the OP's point. When women talk about not being protected, I haven't heard not one of them say, "And when I say black women aren't protected, I'm talking about childbirth"

That's a false equivalency. What do black men have to do with hospital conditions and poor healthcare?

So that's never been their argument. The argument is that they aren't protected by BLACK MEN. Now of course, my personal feelings on it is this: In a sense, they're right. Black men have to do a better job when it comes to protecting our women, but the other side of that is... we can't protect a woman that doesn't want to be protected, which is what OP is saying.

Protection requires security, security requires discipline... Discipline about who you hang with, who you engage with, where you hang out at. I can't protect a woman that wants to be shaking her @$$ all on camera, getting half nude on IG.

How can I? Her behavior is attracting the degenerates that she wants me to protect her from. It's the equivalent of a woman being with a man, and then talking trash to another man, thereby getting herself and her man into a needless altercation.

Protection doesnt mean, let's go into these situations and start these fights, and then Imma fight our way out of it.

Protection is often what you do BEFORE the altercation starts. I know that you putting your @$$ on the internet will get you disrespected, so don't do it.

I know that you walking around talking about you living your "hot girl summer" is gonna put you in situations where you will get disrespected and/or hurt, so don't do it.

But no, these women want to do whatever they want, and then complain when they meet the end result of the path they're choosing, and then look to us to be saviors for them.

What do I look like putting my life in danger for a woman that is sleeping around with multiple men, hanging with the wrong crowd, living a reckless life?

So now I'm supposed to put myself at risk for her? And really and truly, all men know this (or should know this). The fact that no black man with a platform has spoken up and said this shows you the power of our matriarchal society. They're afraid of the heat they'll get from women if they say this.

I think some women are talking about multiple areas.. Black women dying in childbirth is actually a big topic amongst black women.

But if you want to relegate it to violence then I’ll say that stats show that BW are #1 in homicides against women, #1 in domestic violence against women...

Black women think black men pose a bigger threat to us then anyone else and they use the stats to back it up and even when I tell them that most violence against women is by men of their own race, their go to is that it’s higher amongst black women.

I don’t think they’re asking for black men to step up and protect them when they’re being attacked but for black men to stop attacking them.

That’s my take on it.

Can’t scream “Down with patriarchy!” all day long on twitter and then scramble back to wanting patriarchy protection when shyt hits the fan:manny:

Anyway this whole situation is odd. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out Meg was drunk and playing with Tory’s gun and Plaxico’d herself.

The kirk to the fields
This may not be what you’re focusing on in regards to black women claiming to be unprotected but when I think of it, the main thing that comes to mind is childbirth.

I know for me, I’m getting tired of seeing black women die at a disproportionate rate from childbirth due to a lack of care in hospitals and from midwives. I recently saw a video of a youtuber who was only 24 years old (8 months pregnant) and died from a heart attack. She complained to her midwife about having shortness of breath, but it was pretty much dismissed. Now she and her child are gone. Her boyfriend, a black man, was devastated, but there was really nothing he could do. They relied on the right people and still she and her child lost their lives. This is a constant thing that’s been happening for years and mainly affects black women because they do not take the concerns of black women seriously until it’s too late.

That’s where the lack of protection needs to be focused. It’s not black men’s fault. It’s the racism and discrimination in the Medical field towards black women that needs attention.

I’m seriously getting tired of seeing this and honestly makes me scared to even have children.

This shyt lowkey has me scared for every woman I know. We need a movement around this...

This needs to be one of our main priorities. People constantly talk about abortion, yet the doctors straight up killing our women and babies.

They want a “diet patriarchy”. They want it when it suits them. They want to be protected, but they don’t want to obey you. You'll tell them to do something, and they’ll question you about it or outright disobey you. How can a man protect a woman who won’t listen to him?

A while back I was watching some movie on NF, where there was an intruder in a couple’s house. The husband told his wife to do something, and she didn’t follow his directions, and as a result, the situation turned even worse for them. This is a perfect example of the lack of respect that men face from women who they actually try to protect.

At the end of the day, the women who act right and choose right, will get protected, and the ones who don’t... well it’s a coin toss. If the women in our community want to be protected as a whole, then the way they treat men will have to change. They are the ones who broke the social contract between us and them, not us.

The 215
You clowns perpetuate so much stupidity

hopefully your female family members you care about need help/protection one day.and all the hoe ass bystanders do nothin but record for world star. Tlr full of porn addicts & anime watching Dweebs tf y’all know about real nikka shyt.
Unfortunately that's life. Most people aren't going to necessarily help put a random stranger in certain situations. Trying to make this some slogan of black men don't protect them is weird to me for that reason. If you and I get popped over some random now we can't "protect" the people that IMO we have more loyalty to which is my own family. Yeah if my people get in some stuff that's unfortunate but I wouldn't be surprised if nobody helped but for the most part like most things if you mind your business and aren't into no dumb shyt you'll be alright. When is the last time anybody in your family needed "protecting"? People, talking like this is some all the time occurrence that we all witness and have power to do shyt even for those that want to. I don't even see this stuff and I'm sure most y'all don't either.
