Soul Food CLEARS any European cuisine. Greek is the closest but even then, it's a big distance

My personal favorite cuisines are Middle Eastern and Mexican, but Soul Food is definitely on that top tier

I just hate the way people gas up the European subcontinent. Whether it's their food, their countries, etc.

Zay the agent of chaos. Mans is non-FBA and ADOSK knowing what he’s doing making a soul food thread :skip:

I’m FBA and grew up on soul food. Of course I’ll rate soul food higher than any other food group :ohlawd:

It's all in the prep. I like soul food, and it don't gotta be over salted but I think it get a bad rep 'cause of the prep.
Soul food ain't been elevated to the level of other cuisines and it's still a folk typa thing.

When it's good it's top tier, when it's bad it make you stay away for a minute.

Nobody thinks of Creole as soul food outside of Louisiana.

Crayfish and shrimp is not soul food. Go to any soul food restaurant and they handing you a plate of yams, greens, Mac n cheese, cornbread, and fried chicken.

you must be from Wisconsin or some shyt.

You think only Black people from Louisiana eat crayfish and shrimp. do you know what the Gulf Coast is :heh:

Bruh I'm from Florida, when I was a child alot of people especially older folks was eating turtles. I'm talking bout bussin a turtle shell open right out the lake and bringing it home to grandmama and she boil that bytch up in a soup type shyt.

So why ain't we united to fix our problems with under-capitalization? Why we not linkin'? Why we in a thread tryna exclude subgroups of soul food? What's the problem? Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why, why can't we live together...

:ohlawd::ohlawd::ohlawd:

Why...? Why?

In all fairness, we just figured out that we were an ethnic group worth protecting and defending. I expect things to be different moving forward.

Ay Chère see if you can grow Purple Hills next season. It's in the same family as Black Eyes.
:lupe: I'm growing these. Is that right?

Yep! When you cook them use green bell pepper and celery. You gon have to omit the onion due to ya hubby allergies. But these cook thicker than Black eyed and the tastes is off the chain. And it pairs so fukking well with Fried Catfish. Plus you can eat them with rice or with out.

And it's a cold weather pea/bean so they can grow longer into the seasoning and survive past the 1st cold snap, well in the south it can.
