They definitely do. Especially from MOCO. You think all those white fiends all over the city are actually from here? There’s some that come all the way from West Virginia

Baltimore has plenty of white fiends. Pigtown, Westport, Brooklyn, Dundalk has plenty. I don't doubt what you're saying, but to the level that you're implying, I don't think so. But, yes, I've personally seen White fiends from out of town. Just not regularly.

I never sold drugs tho :yeshrug:

Oh no doubt there’s always been white fiends from those areas. But part of the reason the crime rate has been so bad since about 2014 is the rise in opioid use. Nowhere else in the region can you get heroin and fentanyl as cheap, reliable, and consistent as Baltimore. So they come from all over to get it and many get stuck here and can’t leave

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
It wouldn't have been the same. You can most definitely tell who's not from Baltimore; unlike everywhere else, you can't replicate the Baltimore accent. You can't be the best actor in the world, and it would never work

The action in the movie would have been the exact same. Not sure how an accent changes how good or bad a movie or show is.

The first sentence was referring to the location of the show. Each city has its own quirks and nuances, which then dictates the storylines.

The 2nd sentence was just about actors not being able to replicate a Baltimore accent.

The way I typed that paragraph made it impossible to tell what I was disagreeing with. My fault.

Shows set in New Orleans get too caught up in trying to portray the city and they miss out on character development, intriguing storylines, etc.

Examples are Treme and KTown (short lived show on Fox)

...and The Big Easy on USA, and NCIS New Orleans.
They stay trying to play up the Gumbo/“I do declare”-ass chit instead of getting to the story.

If The Wire was set in New Orleans it would been a mini-series.
McNulty an’em wouldna need no taps or nothing, they could just start following the dudes who
bought brand new Cutlasses with lime green candy paint sitting on 28s.
