I'm glad someone else said this because I thought the same thing in my head, which means that I'm continuing to learn the game.

It's not like the Japanese players are out-jumping defenders who are multiple inches taller than them, anyway. No need to send that thing into the box and risk getting beaten on the counter.

No reason at all for them to take a regular corner. Not against a Belgian team with Lukaku, Fellaini, Vertoghen and Alderweireld. Take a short corner and see the game into ET. They couldn't win it on the free kick before hand, they're definitely not winning it off a corner.
