Croatia gonna be in the final four :ehh:

Croatia/Colombia v France/Brasil
I think France or Uruguay is coming out the other side. Brazil might fukk around and lose to Mexico tomorrow smh. It’s going to be 96 degrees and Mexico is going to play real physical against Brazil.

La Roja found little joy against the hosts despite setting team and individual records for passing success in Sunday's tense clash

Spain may have struggled to break down Russia in a tense World Cup last-16 clash, but they wrote themselves into the record books in the process.

An own goal from Sergei Ignashevich early on gave La Roja the advantage against the hosts.

Fernando Hierro's men, however, were pegged back by an Artem Dzyuba penalty when Gerard Pique handled in the area to tie the game at 1-1, a result that stood until full time.

Spain failed to create clear-cut chances against a resolute Russia backline despite enjoying almost total domination in possession.

Indeed, they set a new World Cup record with an incredible passing rate over the first 90 minutes.

Hierro's men completed a total of 770 passes before extra time, the most ever in a World Cup match since records began.

Argentina had held the previous record, having made 703 against Greece in a 2010 group stage clash.

Including extra time, Spain passed the 1000-pass milestone, the first team ever to do so.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, who helped force Ignashevich's own goal, was the fulcrum of Spain's passing game carrying the ball out from the back.

141 - Sergio Ramos completed 141 passes against Russia, the most of any player in a World Cup game since at least 1966. Captain. #ESP #RUS #ESPRUS #WorldCup

Ramos made a whopping 141 passes, the most of any World Cup player since records began.

Mexico/Brazil is feeling like it's gonna be full of fukkery tomorrow. If Mexico is finally gonna end their round of 16 misery it'll be against Brazil. Then again Brazil might show up and take it 3-1.

Right now the only team I feel is a lock to take it is France. And if they botch it we may be looking at a new world cup winner.

To be honest I don't know how I feel about calling the French team African or Le Noirs. :patrice: As much as I appreciate the black excellence it legitimises the same rhetoric used by the French far-right like the FN. I hate cosigning Nazis. They always refer to it as an African team. It's the sort of rhetoric that Thuram was fighting against...

When we take to the field, we do so as Frenchmen. All of us. When people were celebrating our win, they were celebrating us as Frenchmen, not black men or white men. It doesn't matter if we're black or not, because we're French. I've just got one thing to say to Jean Marie Le Pen. The French team are all very, very proud to be French. If he's got a problem with us, that's down to him but we are proud to represent this country. So Vive la France, but the true France. Not the France that he wants.

Thuram attacks ignorant Le Pen
