Breh, what's the difference in this english squad compared to previous squads. Is it an on form striker in Kane? More decisive mid field? From what I remember of English teams of yore, their big problem was they didn't play to their strengths or identity. Always felt there was pressure for them to play like whoever was on top of world football instead of taking advantage of having world class CB's. Quality set pieces and excellent defense can take one far.

But what's different breh? Player's that believe? Good tactics?

It isnt just one thing, its a combination

Poch, Klopp, Jose & Pep making the English players more tactically in tune. Low expectations after Iceland and a wake up call that they arent as good as they thought they were. Also the combinations of club team mates playing together.

When you keep on doing the same thing over and over and over again, for decades with light at tunnel for a few moments till it dies and doesnt get built upon when the times are good, someone sooner or later is going to realise that, you have to come with something different and not do the same cycle of rinse and repeat.

Southgate was a player at international tournaments for England and has covered every base as a player, which is vital experience, coaching isnt just about the tactics, its about opening the mental side of the talent. He has been a starter, missed in a penalty shootout, started a tournament and was injured during the tournament. Went to a World Cup and didnt even play a single minute. He has seen the good times and the bad times, so he understands the psychology of being an international footballer and all the pressures that come with being an England footballer. Now what he has done, has looked to other sports and come with fresh ideas and used what has worked from Venables and Hoddle and what didnt work with Hoddle on how they do things and implement those things and as it is a young squad he has related more than dictated to them.

It's a squad that is together as one and everyone feels wanted and not playing a guest appearance in the Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney show. Also we having a stronger pool of players playing more minutes for top PL teams and picking players on form instead of rep, which wasnt the case under previous coaches. Also I'll go as far and say the diversity of the squad, has probably helped the squad more than what will be ever said, publicly.

England are a more athletic team from top to bottom, instead of having the plodders of previous eras. And not changing tactics at the last min when youve played one way the previous 12 months prior to the tournament helps as well. Our football has always had a strong about set pieces and getting crosses into the box, its just coaches are too caught up on trying to prove the last failure of a coach wrong that he can get certain players to work, even at the detriment of the team structure.

Of course the team is terribly flawed still, even with making a semifinal, but it is a work in progress and is only going to get better over the next 5-6 years with the talent coming thru. 2018 world cup is a pleasant surprise to a nation with no real expectations of just making up the numbers as always, also gives people something to smile about considering the state of which the country is in.

But hey phuck England, phuck the PL, phuck her weather, phuck the food, defintely not phuck the unattractive pale women, but if she has a phat ass :shaq:

I swear to God if you said this in my face, I'd slap the hell outta you. Don't you ever disrespect Lukaku by comparing him to some cac that can only score on penalties and set pieces that can't dribble the ball or run at anyone with skill.

Harry Kane isn't even a good player. He's a fraud. His goals are either from PK or lucky headers off set pieces. He's ABSOLUTE TRASH.
:mjlol:

You're actually embarrassing and clear that you don't know shyt about football. What you need to do is slap yourself and watch more than just the world cup. Even if you have only been watching the WC then you should have been able to appreciate kane in the last 2 games showing the other assets to this game other than scoring. . . I think you may have mental deficiencies or something so I'll try to make it clearer to you, no one is saying Lukaku is trash. We're just saying he's is a top 3 striker in the premier league :manny: . You will find with informed viewers of the PL will tell you that Lukaku isn't the best in the league let alone the world. Between kane and Lukaku? Let the stats speak for themselves. Same age, same position, Kanes had 4 full seasons and some change, while Lukaku 7. Kane already surpassed him in goals :hubie:

Kudos to England but Harry Kane isn't that nice. I don't care if he scores 100 goals a season, if it's not accompanied by a trophy it means nothing. He had a golden opportunity this season and let a half ass Man U side mark him out if the game.

Aguero, Shearer, Henry... ever top scorer in the PL over several seasons has won shyt.

You see Lukaku pass up shooting the ball so Chadli can get a better shot and win the game for Belgium? Kane isn't intelligent enough to do that. Kane out here taking the ball from his own teammate to shoot the ball. Lukaku is better and it takes alot for me to cape for a United player.

Nah you're hating there :lolbron: Kane has proven several times to have good vision, the ability to wait to set up teammates and good passing.
