Young graduates can't find a job because of AI.

For the first time in 40 years, it's HARDER to get a job as a new graduate than for the population.

So, what would I tell my (future) kids?

You must go skill-first, not diploma-first.

Degrees opened doors yesterday.
Portfolios build them today.

☑ 45% of companies plan to drop bachelor’s degree requirements (Intelligent.com).

☑ Hiring for skills is 5× more predictive of job performance than hiring for education (McKinsey).

☑ 95% of executives say nontraditional candidates perform as well or better than degree-holders (U.S. Chamber of Commerce).

☑ 23% of Harvard MBA grads were still job-seeking three months post-graduation (WSJ).

Stop chasing diplomas. Start sharing real work.

→ Social media is free.
→ Making content is (almost) free.
→ Get noticed for your work. Not a piece of paper.

I got the above from LinkedIn and it’s all true!

Depends on the field, but there is some truth to this.

I would also add to start making sure you have money stacked up to help your kids finish school debt free, get a property, and if possible, kick start their retirement portfolio. That extra 20+ years they will get from you on a returement portfolio will do them wonders in their old age.
