Literally not true. Networking matters across the board. Not denying the issue with black sounding names, but the point is that if you have solid recommendations you're better off than having nothing.Come on breh. Networking matters if the person you're networking with is black. There's a reason why having a black sounding name makes you 50% LESS likely to receive a call back on your resume.
Our number one problem in this country has always been racism. Like I said, this isn't the first time we've been at this exact same cross roads. 20 years from now, black women will still be at the bottom of every socio-economic indicator in this country.
You didn't address the rest of my post, and it seems clear we're looking at this in vastly different ways. This cannot be simplified to some "whites don't hire blacks" shyt across the board. Black IT professionals are on record noting the lack of networking hurting black candidates - we just had a thread about that. White women face a similar problem in tech fields. I see it every day in my field (finance). For whatever reason a lot of minorities come out of college with limited networking webs.
At the end of the day all you can do is best prepare yourself for success. Blaming other people doesn't get you far, especially if you throw your hands up and say "oh well there's nothing I can do." YES racism is a factor, as is sexism for women. I continue to see every day that the best way to get a job is to have a resume that demonstrates you know your shyt, and know the right people.
y'all so quick to believe your own hype, not realizing it bites you in the ass.

fukked up how black women try to put their disdain towards their hair on us. knowing damn well its their momma and grandmommas fault.
