Those people are nostalgia sickos. 20+ episode season drag on too much. If it isnt the filler episodes that most of the time are boring its the networks dragging it out that it kills viewers interest and thats why ratings drop. Thats why Streaming Platforms took over people got fed up waiting nearly 40 weeks to complete a 22-25 episode season run.

12-16 episode season runtime from 42-60 mins per ep is more than enough time to world build.
I agree. Every season of X-Files and Lost and old 24 episode season shows like that have at least 4-6 episodes that could go, and everything would be fine. I think 12 is cutting it a little bit short though in a show that wanst to have both mythology and stand alone 'monster of the week' episodes.

The show I keep thinking about when this reboot comes up is Fringe.

The first 4 seasons had 20-23 episodes. First season was mostly monster of the week, it really picked up season 2 as they started to focus on the mythology behind it.

But there were definitely episodes where they could've gone :camby: and nothing would have missed.

I just...dont know.

1. Its a show that worked in the exact perfect time.
2. How committed is Ryan to this? They use to pump episodes like crazy and got em every year (for a while)
3. Its hard to recreate the Fox/Mulder chemistry..
4. Danielle is a great actress, but she'll be 44/45. Black dont crack, but it helped to see two younger actors grow into those roles.
5. The hate will be out in full force. X-Files isnt like Sopranos, Breaking Bad or The Wire but it had a run.
6. Im not antti-woke or whatever bullshyt thats going around on the internet, but I sincerely hope her partner is a male. If its two women its going to lose some people imo.

With Ryan's pull I just dont know why he didnt just pitch an original sci show procedural show. Yea some folks would call it an X Files rip off, but better than have X-Files expectations.

Hoping they crush it, but would rather watch 3 or 4 different Sinners spinoff tv shows over this right now.

i think it's a huge red flag when a production leans heavily on the 'diversity' in marketing when it already has being one of the best shows of all time under its cap. just make a worthy successor
I don't think production is leaning on it though.

The only person I've seen mention diverse was the original creator of the show.

“I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. So, he’s got his work cut out for him because we covered so much territory,” Carter revealed Monday on the CBC podcast On the Coast with Gloria Macarenko.

Who has leaned on diversity in marketing though? All these are just random posts of castings that a majority of high profile shows get. Hell the Deadwyler news really isnt new. We knew she was was being looked at it since October.

Marketing hasnt even started for the show yet because nothing has been filmed.

Like breh above and the op said, the creator has been the only one that mentioned diversity and that was once, 3 years ago.
