the "you suck" Kurt Angle chant last night proved something very telling about the WWE audience...

I tried to go back and watch some 07 stuff on the Network and I couldn't get through most of it, can't believe I watched that trash every week :mjlol: Only bright spots was the HBK/Cena and Batista/Taker feuds
is that the spirit squad era?

yeah that was pure trash. Like I was falling asleep every week on RAW.

They coasted off a stacked roster and already developed wrestlers from different territories. Plus since they had footprints on their neck, They allowed the talent to call the shots. Now you see how exposed the company really is in terms of being creative and not understanding character development

They don't know how to make stars
They don't want to make stars anymore. There's always some guaranteed audience due to somewhat having a hostage audience but if they make a big star or allow someone to get big, he has leverage in money or creative decisions or could end up with options to go elsewhere like rock and hogan and flair did in some way or another at various times. Vince doesn't want anyone getting that sort of credit independent from him and neither does Stephanie. The best example is when smackdown was getting better ratings than raw in 2002-03 and they subsequently starting raiding the roster and sabotaging the show.

"Raw did a 0.83 in 12-17 years old (up 13.7 percent from last week), 0.93 in 18-34 years old(up 9.4 percent), 1.23 in 35-49 (up 12.8 percent) and 1.25 in 50+years old (up 7.8 percent)."

Like I said, their strongest demo is 50+ yrs old, followed by 35-49 yrs old

I think they try to induce that yeah. Vince and Stephanie aim to treat the wrestlers like how a pimp treats their stable of hookers. beat them (injuries from life in the ring and on the road), make sure they never accomplish their own individual goals so they are always chasing a carrot they can't reach, get them addicted to drugs, cripple their finances, and destroy their personal life so that it's all they have left to hang on to and are willing to work themselves into an early grave while earning next to nothing for themselves. Maybe the most telling thing Punk said in his podcast was on the subject of him not going back: "I'd go work at starbucks before heading back. At least they would give me healthcare" "They try to make it sound like it's a dream job and the happiest place in the world and use that as a mindfukk against you. It's the strangest thing"
