Breh it's not about tik tok. The restrict act is a wide sweeping act that has such vague language it can literally be applied to anything, and anyone the commerce department deems as an adversary. Hell it's not even enforced by congress...It's enforced by the department of commerce. Not only that do we really want to start criminalizing people using apps? 250K fine if you use any app that's illegal, and don't dare use a VPN the fine goes up to 1 million, and/or 20 years in prison. How about we make parents accountable for the programs their children use instead of violating people's rights.

Yep. Tik tok uses it's own series of api's...They have their own developers portal. They have a marketing API, Research API, etc. It's literally how algorithms are set across a wide range of platforms online.

Those apis only give developers access to public data and it's also a very limited set of data. Bytedance has unfettered access to both public and private user data.

Yes, I know that. You don't think they have access to private and public user data for IG? Facebook? Twitter? They do, because congress literally places no limits on how data is shared or sold. You don't want outside countries having access to US data...Then you have to close the entire loop.

Why can't people have the freedom of choice? If you don't want it, don't download it. You don't want your kids downloading it? Use an app blocker. Why does some kid in Anywhere, USA lose his/her choice to use the app if they please? Why can't a small business owner use the APP to market their business, etc? 150 million people use the app on a monthly basis...If someone used that app as a tier one marketing tool, what happens if it's banned?
