MBDTF & GKMC are certified. I don't like either of these albums but the majority rules, the consensus speaks for itself. The problem with these 'classic' discussions are is people bring too much of their own opinion in, i wouldn't say either of these albums are classic but they are.

that dude Kendrick wasn't even really talked about until the control verse.

who the hell even listens to mbdtf? that's some white folks chit.

albums that don't exist when you close your laptop can never be classics.

you don't decide if an album is a classic or not.

the culture is what gives the classic status to an album and a lot of them have been in the classic debates. The culture changes, for better or for worse, so let's stop with the "it's not respectful for the history"

Just to name a few:

The Documentary
College Dropout
Food and Liquor
Below The Heavens
Good Kid mAAd City
Be
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
The Cool
Cuban Linx 2
...

no one cares if you agree or not, what is "considered" as classic will be classic, they represent a generation, point blank.

my list is pretty much the same.. though i consider OB4CL2 a great album not classic and i think The Cool hasnt aged as well to me as F&L(either versoin).. i really only play Go Go Gadget, Hip Hop saved my life and paris, tokyo.. great list though :salute:

The word classic is obsolete, shyt doesn't even exist anymore at this point, it's no need in debating or getting mad, the shyt doesn't mean what it used to mean, literally and figuratively so why even trip I figure.

This is exactly what I mean when I say that it's over for that word

Something that has been out for weeks now some how has the most longevity, these nikkas aren't fans, their campaign managers.

Its the only album ive been playing for the last 3 weeks

Thats a testament to its longevity

Classic is never supposed to mean something thats relatively new

The term instant classic is an oxymoron

What decides a classic is the albums people remember and hark back on 10 years from now

Usually determined by the younger of the generation

theres a huge difference between being on the internet and being on web forums.

this forum chit isn't popular at all. I don't know why yall think it is.

Do you know how many hip hop forums there are though and how many people post on them?:usure:

Tons. It's not just the booth. As I said before this aint the 90's when it was a relatively small group of nerds posting on a few hip hop boards with minimal traffic.

And why does being on the net in general not count in this debate?
