There's a generation gap in hip hop and its the old heads who are in denial about it.

It’s not the same. Steve was killing hiphop as a whole.. I mean dude grew up BEFORE HIPHOP WAS A THING. A lot of older heads still listen to hiphop, they’re just critical of the music.. Steve wasn’t implying that at all with his bit. Hell its funny cause Steve did all that then Cedric The Entertainer comes out to this I think right after the bit the op posted.

whole bands and movements of music cant be compared to ticky tack ass drum machines and 808 one button bass drops and 3 note synth leads

Fine...Then I'll compare it to 70's/early 80's Hip Hop when DJs were just doing break beats. Instead of Steve Harvey, I'll use Star......Star himself said he hated the Sugar Hill Gang when they first came out because they just rhymed over his favorite bass players Nile Rogers song.

Ummm....that's pretty damn true.

But I always wonder why is it the only Hip-Hop in music genres that gotta be "It's a young man game"? and on some "You're just flabby n sick :flabbynsick:" "Let it go" but you never see with Heavy Metal, Rock N Roll, Country, R&B, etc....you see what I mean?......

@smokeurobinson

false............the young vs old dynamic has always existed in music even going back the 1800s. You can find material with

classical guys (old) sh1tting on ragtime (younger)

ragtime guys (old) dissing jazz (younger)

within jazz.......

dixieland (older) dissing swing (younger)

dixieland and swing guys (older) dissing bebop (younger)

trad acoustic jazz guys (older) hated electrified fusion jazz (younger)

.
.
.
.

in r&b...

alot of the older soul heads hated the younger, funk

60's/70s soul-funk heads didn't like 80's rnb

Exactly, Steve just a hip-hop hater since, he never liked Hip-Hop at all so that's why I told @smokeurobinson it's totally different. Steve doesn't understand the hip-hop culture at all unlike Cedric the Entertainer.

If you’re a fan of music you’ll have no problem with any era

Most old heads who complain about it like 1 specific type of rap, they want rap dudes to act like Mobsters and Kingpins

Exactly. fukk Steve Harvey. Being critical of ur OWN genre of music is completely different than what Steve Harvey was doing. Now if that Steve Harvey bit was about R Kelly or some shyt OP would have more of a point.

So u just gonna ignore me quoting post #32? :sas1:

I dapped you but let's be real Steve just don't like hip-hop. If he talks about "Sugar Hill Gang was the great hip-hop until the late 80s hip-hop so I can't stand them" then you have a point in your thread. Steve just don't like Hip-Hop at all. Steve always shytting on Hip-Hop then he mentioned Pusha T on his show and talked shyt at Pusha T cause Pusha T talks about him in the song that diss Drake's father that he dresses like Steve, etc.

Also, you have to remember Steve has Lady of Rage on his show in 90s. In his class was all about Jazz/Blues and low-key shytty on hip-hop but let's them kids have it.

It'll get better when we realize there are now multiple generations that love hip hop and we recognize that hip hop is big enough to have "sub-genres" ie: rock, heavy- metal, classic rock, soft-rock etc.... I was guilty of the old head complaining for yrs ...but I realized that it don't stop or wait for nobody
