There’s currently 6 players averaging over 30 ppg. What does it even mean at this point?

Y’all just won’t admit that defense is not being played in this sport

I can admit that it’s not played hard against medium players but people put on their hardest defense against the stars.

I can also admit that there’s barely any high profile defense guys as there were back in the days. I’m talking guys who were recruited and payed solely to defend

I was looking up something for hidden agenda purposes (but that don’t matter right now) and was looking at teams from the MJ era.

I think it was like 92 or 93 but it was crazy going back to see teams back then that didn’t have one guy on the team averaging 20.

I wanna saw there was a Clipper team that the high scoring guy in the team had 18 ppg

There was guys starting on teams that was averaging 3-6 points a game on franchises.

People really do take for granted the level of skill players have evolved to have for todays game. There are guy back then that were starters and wouldn’t even make an NBA 17 man roster and yet there are guy on the bench that would’ve been All Stars.

shyt is crazy

This is a video of somebody being 6'7 and can attack the basket with both hands. But the takeaway is that he has no skill and his opponent isn't playing any defense.

Alrighty then...

Don't waste your time. That bozo doesn't watch games.
Y’all don’t think the lack of defense is an issue when Josh Giddy can score at will with no resistance at all?

Why is the go to for NbA Stan’s that people don’t watch the games

I don't know what Josh Giddey has to do with this but I'm sure you don't watch Thunder game to see how he scores. I'm not wasting my time going back and forth with you. Nothing I say would change your mind anyway. Have a good weekend.

You clearly want 90s/00s basketball back.

Some of us don't. We are happy with the product looking like the 60s 70s 80s.

This is like the cliche nba Stan answer on this site site

Y’all love to ignore how the nba has made it impossible to play defense

Freedom of movement rules
Allowing all kinds of traveling and carrying
No defense 3 seconds
Rewarding offense players for initiating contact

EDIT: damn near forgot moving screens!

How do you guard this? Nobody was doing this shyt in the 1990s.

shyt is crazy

the launching of threes has eliminated that boring posting up offenses of the 90's, with so many bigs shooting 3's that leaves the rims unprotected for slashers who can score easily

the game is simply more wide open and geared for offense these days

Y'all in here arguing like the 6 people he's referencing ain't potential all timers (except SGA........and he might end up being one too).

The list is Embiid, Luka, Dame, SGA, Giannis, and Tatum.....and Steph, Bron, and KD just under them. It ain't Kelly Oubre or Kuzma or Norman Powell averaging over 30. If Rudy Gobert was averaging 25+ then we should all be worried, but it's mostly dudes who should and can be averaging 30 ppg. Embiid and SGA and Giannis doing it without hoisting up a ton of threes too.

The sport and players are evolving. If Tim Duncan averaged 20 shots per game he would've been at 30 ppg too.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:

The defender was trailing waiting for him to drive. Low energy and thought because he’s taller he would use his wing span to contest and hope he misses. Nevermind the fact his team losing by 24 at home midway thru the 4th quarter. Common sense will tell you he’s probably going to chuck low percentage shots.

KD averaging 30 in any era tho.

i love basketball

i love the modern NBA, but there is no way to pretend stats aren't inflated either.

it's easier than ever for a random ass player to drop 40/50 points, that used to happen a few times a season, esp over 50 games. there been like 25 50 point games this year, that shyt ain't normal. if it is (and it's not some wilt season where he scored 50 25 times) please correct me.

People keep bringing this up. Who are all these random players dropping 40 and 50?
