Only May and Clinton have anything in common in this list. Both very risk averse and tried to cake walk to wins against weak opposition.

Le Pen was never a favourite and probably the best her party could ever do.

Clark won two elections, and the BC Liberals were in power for 17 years. They were due a loss.
