...Except its not. When white people bring up black on black crime they're doing it to deflect from the very real issues surrounding police brutality. These black women are just trying to get their voices heard. If anything YOU bringing up that point; about the majority of black women living around black men, is more like some "what about black on black crime shyt," because you're doing it to mute their voices and deflect from their unique issues as black women. But this very thread is a perfect example of black male privilege. These comments once again extenuating black women, and their experiences. Some of you are taking their criticisms too personally, and putting more focus on yourselves, and preserving your own image than listening to their concerns, and creating a dialog around them. All the time you hear womanists complaining about having their voices heard, and every time they try this is the pushback (from their own community) that they have to deal with.

Thats besides the point. The reality is that black women face a lot of issues within the black community that NEVER get discussed. That is what these black women are trying to bring attention to--those unique issues that they face on a regular basis. We shouldn't be trying to silence them. We should be trying to listen to them not creating an environment where they feel as though their issues are not important. Lets deal with reality, and stop trying to make excuses for black men.
