Seems people are confusing songwriting with "catchy" hooks. 50's a great songwriter, no doubt. Where's his 22 2s? His Hovi Baby? His PSA? Ridiculously lyrical, yet very memorable records? What 50 is lauded for, Jay has probably double the amount of the same records on the same or near level.

HOV is in my Top 10, but he's always been carried by production.

50 is a way better song writer than Jay-Z and I say that as someone who has Jay as the GOAT.

50's pure rap skills and lyrics were just average IMO but his ability to write catchy hooks, meloides and structure songs was his superpower.
