I still listen to some of his shyt but in hindsight, Banks, Dre, Em and 9 bullets was really his claim to fame. He was always an average to below average rapper who just made some catchy songs

I loved GRODT when it came out and by the summer of 03 came you couldn’t tell me shyt about him as a kid but looking back now that I’m older it’s just a good album with some cringey ass songs

Cmon man, outside of 50s ability to craft catchy hooks and melodies (which he seems to have completely lost) Jay is a better rapper in every other category.

And even then 50 has more misses in that space than Jay because it was the only formula he knew.

I love 50, will always be a big fan, that G Unit run was the soundtrack to my teenage years, but Hov is on another level.

Of course he did, maybe luck is the wrong word. But when you get to a certain level where your on fire, its just hard to miss. Id argue Jay had this same "luck" when he was hot. Alot of his hits and songs aged horribly imo. Goes for probably anybody who had major commercial success. But when your hot those songs hit different for whatever reason. 50 was invincible and had plot armor during his GRODT era.

But how is this even close when we talk about non hits:gucci:?
But if all your success is literally with a 3 album 4 year run and you did nothing before or after what am I supposed to believe?

Where is this “great” song writing prior to 2002 or post 2007?
