Shea Moisture for sure pandering to their investors. That ad just seems forced and fraudulent. The owners originally come from Liberia I believe. Tariq Nasheed clearly doesn't know much about this and a lot of the other guys don't either. They gotta shut up or let one of these women school them on this topic.

My family has worked with Black hair companies for over 40 years. I didn't like the commercial, but half the products they are promoting over Shea moisture are white owned or have their own horror stories. Taliah Waajid paid here white workers more than her black workers and uses shytty ingredients like sls and mineral oil, but they don't care because it looks afrocentric. Homemade gang wins again.

This is what happens when you have white investors who own damn near half you company and inject millions of dollars.

Saw the same shyt happen to essence mag years ago. If the twitter warriors really wanted to make an impact they would boycott the shyt out of the product.

You're right but where's the black investors!? End of the day if you want your company to grow you have to get investors.

Yep!

It's really stupid though bc the only reason it got so popular was because it was made specifically for black women, by a black woman.

It didn't become popular being a product for everyone. It actually would've flopped if it was marketed that way bc there are already so many established product for white hair. Pantene, Garnier, Herbal essences and the list goes on. Not only that, but Shea is not usually used by white people, so they wouldn't have went anywhere near it.

But this is the MO. Fox tv didn't get popular until black shows then they threw the black folks out. Black folks created rock. But at its peek white folks took it and threw the black folks out.

Rinse and repeat same shyt different day. Black folks build it white folks take it or buy it. Black folks then on the outside looking in.

Nikka, it's not about expanding, it's about completely alienating the folks who actually got them to this level.

It's one thing to create a new line for Non Blacks, but they not doing this.

This shea shiit is just a fad to white women, and others.

Alienate your real supporters for folks who won't be there in a 1 year:francis:

You sound similar to the white folks mad about the Cheerios commercial.

Breh essence magazine spurned black investors (like cosby) and sold 50% then 100% to white folks. Jet/ebony spurned black investors years ago and sold half the company to chase.

Their are black investors. Some of these black own companies will take from black customers and scream black owned. But will years later cash out to white folks and sell black folks down the river.

Shea Moisture been had mainstream products in the mainstream (aka white) aisle for a minute. Not shocked by the ad.
