Years ago when my wife use to wear weaves there was a brotha who owned a shop we would do business with. He owned the shop with his wife and his kids worked in the shop. Anyway he sold weave (same weave and quality as the koreans) maybe 15 bucks a bag more than the korean stores in america. Dude would go to korea and get the weave. But he didn't have the connections the koreans had so he would have to pay more.

She should've bought it where it was more affordable. If a korean could price their hair that low, then so could the black male. & guess what? The black male bought that weave from a non black just like the korean. It is all coming from the same place.

Anyway, with all of the black people selling weave now, I'm pretty sure there are tons of reasonably priced options.

:patrice: I've always heard the Korean suppliers don't give black-owned shops the same discount that they give Korean-owned shops. That's why black-owned shops products tend to cost more.

The whole damn point of this shyt flew over a shytload of black dude's heads :snoop:

:patrice: I've always heard the Korean suppliers don't give black-owned shops the same discount that they give Korean-owned shops. That's why black-owned shops products tend to cost more.

Here is the thing breh. The koreans like everyone else except black folks monopolize a industry and tax folks or make it extremely expensive to get into the field. The koreans monopolized the production and distribution aspect of the weave where you have to go through them no matter what and if you weren't korean they made you pay more.

White kat years ago even did a documentary on how they monopolized the industry.

The messed up part is BLACK FOLKS once controlled the wig (weave back in the day) industry and all these hair stores in the black community were black owned.

But once korean folks moved in (with the help of financing in from korea) the black neighborhoods and started selling hair at a cheaper cost blacks basically went to where the hair was cheaper and kicked the black shops to the curb.

Now what has helped the market is that the chinese in china now have gotten into the market and with the help of alibaba and the rest regular folks can buy weave and get it at reasonable prices. But overwhelmingly black folks still buy their weave from koreans cause they still have the best infrastructure that was built from the ground up and have the largest footprint in the black community.

Anyway here is the thing man and folks don't want to be honest. You think you gonna open up shop at a jewish community or korean community or Indian community sell products specifically to their community and they gonna support you? Even if it is a cheaper cost?

Hell no.

Like I said as long as it is cheaper or convenient black folks gonna give up that dollar no strings attach. Where as these other folks make you jump through hoops as a black business person before they even give you a dollar. All the while black folks want to nickle and dime black businesses......but give up money to white businesses with no strings attached.

For example brotha we all know black folks who have gotten poor service from white businesses and will go to that place the next day or week or month. But that same black person would never do the same for a black business.

That is why I continue to say that buy black is all talk for most folks.......

This is why I have to give you nothing but props. Cause if you are really down to support black folks you have to make some real hard decisions.

Like I said black folks will buy some 150 buck nikes that is over priced junk that cost 3 fukking dollars to make or a iphone that cost 800 bucks to buy, but cost fukk 50 bucks to make (trust I know these prices cause I work in china right down the street from both factories).

But will nickle and dime leroy or shanique cause they shyt cost a few dollars more than the white folks or others.

Brotha I know black business folks. I know a few brothas and sistas who are self made millionaires. A older sista who is a friend of my parents and has been like a mentor for me for years has been talking to me about this since I was a teenager.

She has said for years....other folks will question black folks whether they should spend a dollar with their business. But black folks will not do the same when spending money with others (unless they are black).

Breh the older sista I know and another brother I know have had to use a white front just to do business with white folks in their communities. Cause when those white folks found out the owners were black.......they were like fukk that shyt I ain't buying shyt from you (even though their prices were cheaper).

One last thing since this has become a dumb ass battle of the genders instead of seeing the bigger picture of economics, controlling your image, boycotting instead of bytching and supporting those who support you.

Many of these hair care products are trash (even for black hair) and are filled with so many chemicals. You would be better off buying natural products and making your own concoctions (and probably would save more money).

I did it for years when I use to do my wife's (who has been natural for years) and oldest daughter's hair (been natural all her life) as a way to control what I was putting in their hair. There is plenty of info on sites like long hair care forum and youtube.

I think we had a thread on here a few years back where the jews up in NYC talked about how easy it is for/to get black folk to sell out :wow:
