They finally found the only media voter who didn’t put Nikola Jokic as a top 5 player in the MVP race. It was Mark Jackson

He said he confused it with 1st team all nba votes that is why he had 2 guards, forwards and a big. Silly mistake but better than nothing

I remember a couple of years ago, Maria Taylor I think left someone off the All NBA Teams that won MVP. Either that or she left someone off the All Defensive Teams that won DPOY.

He needs his vote taken away.

You can't be that obvious and if so you shouldn't be voting

The media has been pretty much 85% very positive and supportive with Embid winning in regards to feeling happy for him winning whether they actually agreed or not, because they either felt he should have won last year and was robbed or should have won this year. Including me. But even if you don’t want the white boy to win you can’t not have him at atleast #5 when he is the best statistically this season in the NBA. He almost averaged a triple double. I didn’t want him to win a single year, but you talking crazy. Lol
He didn't have to list him #5 because he may have known already that Jokic was never going to win a 3rd straight, so why list him?

List a different player who made an impact for their team 🤷🏾‍♀️ Mark Jackson probably felt the same way I'm feeling, let somebody else who's great get some acknowledgement. Jokic got enough of that already.
This has nothing to do with him leaving Jokic out of the top 5 on his MVP ballot. Why do people love to pass of their personal opinion as a fact?
:unimpressed:
He left him off because since the beginning of the season it was pretty much established that Jokic wasn't winning another one in a row. Giannis would've had a better shot at winning his 3rd rather than Jokic for numerous reasons, one being that he hasn't won MVP in a 2-3 years so awarding him his 3rd would've been more easier to digest.

Jokic won't win another one for a few years.

The same thing happened with Bron in 2011 when Rose won MVP, he could've had his 3rd straight but they had to break up the monotony.

Draymond got robbed of the 2015 DPOY because some members of the media actually forgot to put his name down. Just to put it into perspective of how egregious it was - he had more 1st place votes than any other player, but 42 people left him off their ballots, entirely.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
I remember when Mark Jackson was on Shannon Sharpe's show and he asked Mark about Jordan and Shannon probably expected a different response, but Mark said something like "with all due respect, Jordan would get 40 in this era"

As for Jokic, he'd definitely be in my top 3, let alone top 5.

But I fukks wit Mark Jackson
Someone should ask Mark about Shay Shays stylist, and if a stylist job should indeed be “4 Lyfe 🥰”?

Rose was almost unanimous because he led his team at such a young age to the #1 seed with his two best players injured a majority of the season while Bron played with a stacked team. Anyone who actually watched that season understood and felt him winning was completely justified. It was nowhere the same as like when Malone won over Jordan. What D Rose did had never been accomplished before in NBA history….That’s why they didn’t give it to Lebron despite him of course being the best player… he had a stacked team, so the media felt they were good even without him because Wade already was a champion before he came. MVP (most valuable player). So Heat also had Bosh. Denver is nothing without Jokic . He is one of the most valuable players in the league with his team finishing at #1 in the West. You used the worst example you could possibly make. And as little votes as Bron got, he was still number 3 lol. Not out of top 5. There was literally nobody more valuable to they team as Rose was that year. The bulls were shyt without him. That’s the definition of MVP. That had nothing to do with Bron. The league was caught off guard and literally captivated because he came out of nowhere and took shyt over that season at #1.it’s a regular season award. Watch more basketball please

I'm ok with it. You can't always have the same guys MVP every year 🤷🏾‍♀️.

You need new faces and let's not act like Mitchell and SGA didn't have great seasons averaging over 28pts and obviously Tatum did his thing. Sure the Cavs finished 4th and got gentleman's swept while OKC didn't even make the playoffs, you can't say they weren't worthy of the award based on how their impact on the court improved their team success.

I'm happy Joel won but personally I'm getting tired of constantly seeing Embiid, Giannis, and Jokic finish in the top 3 as MVP candidates it's gotten kind of repetitive 🤷🏾‍♀️ they're not the only MVP caliber guys in the league.
Yeah! They should not let any team win the championship more than once within a 7 year period, as well. They should also let fans win a chance to be play on their favorite team

People always saying Bron should have more than 4 MVPs. Which MVP should he have won? Not Rose’s. Not KD’s. You could even make an argument that one of LeBron’s MVPs could’ve went to D-Wade. No, I don’t think Wade should’ve won, but it’s the same argument people have for Kobe winning MVP the year he was a 7 seed.

It was AD that she completely left off All NBA Team altogether and her excuse was that she “forgot” to add him.

Jackson’s flub is worse tbh as he's obviously had NBA award voting rights for years, so he should know which one is which to not make that kind of mistake.
