Robert Smalls and Martin Delany don't even have movies yet, but this is what's being made.
There is no movie, show or anything else about Emmitt Till that can be more powerful than the photos showing his corpse. A black man was just shot over 40 times barely a month ago, we don't need to be "reminded" of shyt.
The youth should see this, but I already know the story and seen the pic. No need to subject myself to a cinematic retelling![]()
Yup, my dads mother people in Georgia were still sharecropping well into the 50s/60s. He said he remembers going down there in the summer and having to help out on the land as a shortyi could see this one thing in the trailer potentially triggering some people, but alot of black folks are going to think the part where there are picking cotton is like inaccurate, but black people were still picking cotton around that time. My mother was born in 1949 and she and some of my uncles and aunties picked cotton in Arkansas. Sharecropping lasted a long ass time.
But I have desire to see this, maybe as a download and i'm bored. Like we already know its not going to end well.
Surprising, they just showed “Women of the movement” which was basically the mini-series of this on ABC. Executive produced by Will Smith & Shawn Carter.
Really good mini-series btw.
