Awareness is fine, but I'm not fukking with this being hollywood dramatized with makeup and actors and making a plot as dramatic as possible etc. when its real shyt that happened and the woman responsible is alive and chilling
:unimpressed: Because we forgot or didn't know the story....If a movie would've got made a long time ago we wouldn't have this problem..

Malcolm X got killed and people forgot about him until The Malcolm X movie resurrected him.. If a Emmett Movie came out in 80s/90s they would've been got convicted

and the director is a Nigerian who grew up in Alaska?

This intrigues me, cuz I'm very curious about the psyche of someone who decides to make a film like this. What's their background and upbringing? What puts them on the trajectory to producing black trauma films? Where does that obsession with misery, victimization, etc., come from? Why is it that a Jordan Peele can think outside of the box, but a Nigerian from Alaska wants keep picking at scabs? Weird to me.

I can see a Black dude taking his "pawg" to see this and telling her "I wish a muthafukka would" throughout the movie

And then post a selfie with the bytch like this on IG from the Theater

Certain things should be left alone. :francis:
This is a perfect opportunity for Nigerian American Chinonye Chukwu to tell his story to white people.

Emmanuel Acho laid the trauma porn foundation :wow:

The youth should see this, but I already know the story and seen the pic. No need to subject myself to a cinematic retelling :sadcam:

Saw the trailer and tbh, I am not interested! Maybe if it hits HBO or Showtime, but not going to pay to see it.

I am tired of slave and Jim Crow 🎬!! Rather see TN's Maroon documentary as an exception because at least Black people get some 'get back' in his upcoming doc.
