Gotcha. Do they run day cabs?

I'm with J B Hunt and all you have to do is tell them you want to go local and they'll begrudgingly start the process if there are spots open in the city you want.

And you tripping, breh. Nights are the shyt. No traffic and you don't have to fight for a spot at a truck stop when you're ready to shut down. Shheeiit if I could swing it I'd still be driving nights.

Yea, they got daycabs but Ive actually been lookin at JB Hunt because their terminal is in the part of ATL that im planning to settle down in when i go local.

They tryna get me to join. They send me an email like once per week. I want to do my full 2years with 1 company then i may switch over to Hunt and do local.

Hate your 9-5?

Try working retail where you are lucky to get 6 hours. This week its 36 hours, next week its 12 and you staring at the hours board hoping to pick someone elses shift
up.

I don't like the concept of 9-5s, but the easy money, consistent schedule, and drone-ass work was a breeze. I shoulda did a 9-5 when I was 21 instead of fukking
serving food to stupid mothafukkas who took hating their 9-5s out on me.

the federal government has many tasks they don't hire FTEs for, so in order to fill those gaps, they use contractors from private companies to basically do the job. the government isn't physically building the roads, schools, and infrastructure with their own federal employees...they contract private companies to do that work. that's where people like me come into place...
But u work from home...so u set up projects for people to build?

Im out here on the road too. It all depends on what type of person you are. My experiences with other jobs made me realize that i would be happiest in a career that allowed me to have little to no contact with other people. Thats the main thing i love about trucking. NO COWORKERS!!!! I dont have to worry about people in my business or azzhole bosses looking over my shoulders. No dress code. No grooming rules. I start and end my day when i want to most days. I love the freedom. I dont smoke but if i did i could (cigarettes that is )

Once u get comfortable behind the wheel its cool. Obviously being away from home is the main con, but even thats not an issue for everybody. Im almost at 2 years then im going local
Doesn't sound too bad :ehh:
Freedom and being alone works for me
Ill likely be frequenting strip clubs in different cities

jobs are for suckas, any man that actually like their job is a sissy basically, it means u dont like being free.....having a job because u need one is one thing or because its your best option, but if u actually like it, and come to work smiling, esp black men....you're a bytch

idc what nobody say, what real man is happy being told what to do?

Me personally I rather grind and go through the pain now, to live the lifestyle i want later.....this shyt aint rocket science, just grind, be smart with your money, aviod debt, pay bills....live free

fukk I look like working for some fat cac that Im better than for 50 years for fukking 12 dollars an hour, man fukk outta here.......I rather die, im not saying that to sound cool, ill blow my face off....than do that for my whole live..............these jobs are plantations, a whole bunch of docile Blacks and Hispanics working for some fat cac manager that dropped outta HS but still is the HNIC...bossing everybody around, and no matter how hard u work, cacs ALWAYS promote other cacs

than the employees walk on egg shells, because that job is all they have....u mean to tell me i gotta kiss some dude or bytch ass for 12 dollars....naw fukk that man ....i rather just be homeless , eating outta the dumpster...

I work a 9 to 5 (technically)...doesn't bother me.

But then again, I can come and go as I please. Some days I work from home. (I don't get anything done though so I prefer the office.) I get 2-3 business trips a year (currently, been told there are more coming).

I make good money, have time to follow my dreams, have friends etc.

I will say that the hardest part is staying self-motivated. It is a lot easier to be creative or think of things to do when your basic needs are taken care of....but the problem is that you can fall into complacentsy so the key is to always hunger for more knowledge, more bread and more experiences.

Think of a 9 to 5 as a tool or a conduit for your dreams and not an end point.
