Here we go with the Paul Bunyan Jordan tales. Jordan he would’ve done this or that. Man gtfoh. Dude 23 made it to the conference finals TWICE what Jordan was doing at 23? Talking as if this man don’t have room to grow and develop. Look up news articles and see how they were talking about Jordan until he finally broke through and won a chip. Using MJ as a metric just to shyt on players mad goofy.

I like Ant. I dont think you can put everything on one guy, especially in this day and age with the amount of talent and the rules.

That said, he is starting to give me frontrunner vibes. 40 pts and DX "suck it" and cash shyt when he winning, running from the media and 20 pts or even less when he losing. And this aint all his team either. He got some Ws these last couple playoff runs were he aint balling like that, and game 4 was very winnable...so we cant put it all on his team.

Thunder were clearly better. And that was apparent early. They gave him hell defensively no doubt. But that energy, literal and figurative, gotta stay the same.

And this aint an age thing. Great players throughout history have balled out and been more consistent, even in defeat, at 23.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
People keep bringing up his age, which doesnt matter. Everyone doesn't enter the NBA at the same age...

Its the experience that matters. He's 5 years down, two of those being WCF. He's fine compared to his peers:

•Tatum thru 5 years (2022) 1x Finals, 3x ECF
•Haliburton thru 5 years (2025) 2x ECF, possible Finals
•Ant thru 5 years (2025) 2x WCF
•Jokic thru 5 years (2020) 1x WCF
•Luka thru 5 years (2023) 1x WCF
•Brunson thru 5 years (2023) 1x WCF
•Giannis thru 5 years (2018) 0 ECF
•Shai thru 5 years (2023) 0 WCF
•Butler thru 5 years (2016) 0 ECF
•Embiid thru 5 years (2021) 0 ECF
•Mitchell thru 5 years (2022) 0 WCF

With exception to Haliburton and Tatum, Ant is doing better than his peers thru 5 years in terms of his trajectory. All these guys get better between Y6 and Y10, so the best is yet to come for him...

I will say that they need to retool that roster again, because Oklahoma aint going nowhere! In order for him to get over the hump they need to give him a roster that can compete because we know the one as is, aint it...

My Father in Heaven
Nah he Jordan son

And he used to will his team to wins no matter who was in his team

Jordan would have swept this OKC team if he replaced ant
People have to understand that the Michael Jordan they fell in love with was a complete product of Phil Jackson- the one before him was just your typical high volume shooting guard that never won in the playoffs

Unless another Phil Jackson is walking through that door then these talks need to be deaded

It ain't just Phil, they constructed the perfect team around him. But pre-Phil and pre-squad Mike balled win, lose, or draw.

Minnesota roster was no match for okc. This thread should be locked.

Conley only had 12 assist in this series. Only Ant could dribble the ball under the okc ball pressure.

Minnesota losing this series is not on Ant

I would separate the conference....Making it out of the West is significantly more difficult than making it out of the East.
The # of completed seasons in the NBA is an important data point; so is age.

Ya got to stop with this. Nobody in the league is fukking with this OKC defense (Not Tatum, Not Luka, Not Haliburton, Not Brunson, etc).

Even Jokic had three straight mediocre games against this OKC defense in the playoffs.

Antman will be better and he will be fine.

Don't you dare come on TheColi with nuance like this :skip:
