Everywhere...You never there.
Steph did two crossovers and then engaged him...the defender never pressed until Steph had already set him up...too late..

Easier said then done..but first cross..move your feet and press..don't let him rock you to sleep...at least force Steph to adjust to you..and like the other poster said keep your hands up..

Yeah man... D was average.

Steph hypnotized him with a few lil light crosses and a relaxed posture (very smart and cerebral way to create space), then the defender nudged him back further which gave him more space... :mindblown: when you know his range is anything past half court (lol) with space :wow: ...

...if you're gonna commit that closely man-to-man that far out :mjlol: on someone like Steph, then you gotta go all the way in, and realize you have help behind you and just live with the dribble drive and kick to someone with a lower efficiency rate.

let's review some fundamental concerns ...

the defender was looking at the ball damn near the entire time when you're taught as a kid in organized ball to watch primarily the midsection, glancing up when face guarding :usure:
defender had his hands down damn near the entire time when you're taught as a kid in organized ball to have you arms outstretched as an on ball defender (or offball in the zone), especially if you have length, to help confine the offensive player to a defined area :usure:
defender had his eyes down after nudging steph into his slight stepback motion, and got his hands up late :usure:

... also some of greatest blockers used their left hand to try to block and their right to try to shield the defenders eyes :usure:

Playing Steph man to man beyond the arc requires precision and a willingness to look foolish and huge amount of energy exertion. And defenders aren't playing like that anymore. too cool for that shyt. It requires that 45 year old man, grizzled vet, Rec Center, YMCA defense where that defender was all in your shyt the entire time, committing to the constant amount of moment to moment discipline it takes to not give you space within a defined area. As you said, those defenders made you conform to them.

I still haven't seen that on Steph. Maybe in the playoffs. But you don't have many guard defensive specialists anymore

Can't wait til the 'offs to see if the refs will allow that kinda D on Steph, and if anyone will accept the challenge of trying that.

Why you think they called GP the Glove? He suffocated people. Looking back, his ability to do it on both ends was just incredible. Y'all sure yall are hoopers?

They really want to make that seem like bad defense to keep their agenda going bruh
Not sure why folks are so stingy with giving credit to great offense and just want to relegate it to bad defense. Illy played that about as well as you could. He kept Curry in front of him, which is more than you can ask from almost any guard, let alone a big. And he got his hand up for a good contest. That's just a tipped cap to a super quick release and crazy range.

You gotta double him & chase him off the 3 point line.

Curry taking 2's is >>> then Curry taking 3's as far as trying to beat the Warriors.

I don't understand why everyone plays him straight up...dude is already on fire from 3 when he steps off the jet. Double Curry from the opening tip off, play tight on Klay Thompson, and force Barnes/Green/Bogut to beat you.
your logic is so flawed from watching the warriors play
you double curry....he passes to draymond....draymond himself is a 40 percent 3 point shooter...........he puts pressure on the defense every time people double curry especially off the screen and roll
draymond is a good enough decision maker on his own...to the point where he can find bogut for an easy bucket....or pass it to klay in one corner(you know the dude that beat steph curry in a 3pt contest)....or hit barnes in the opposite corner...another 40 percent 3 pt shooter :mjlol:
if that double comes....the defense is at the warriors mercy especially when they run draymond at the 5 :mjlol:
you double with all that spacing...they're gonna get an easy two or a wide open 3...9 times out of 10
so you say....double curry...either way...you're gonna lose :mjlol:
there's a reason they're one of...if not the most efficient offense of all time
they get easy twos....and shoot 3s at a higher percentage than everyone else especially with the volume they shoot them :laff:
the hardest shots they take...are by the greatest shooter of all time....:francis:

Not saying it's easy but man the bold is how you beat the Warriors...Press up and make him/Klay shoot 2 point shots...and when he does drive to paint put him on his azz( not saying hurt him or flagrant fouls) every once in a while...and don't panic when Barnes/Green/Iggy hits a few open 3's.....or Bogut has a few finishes around rim...that's not how they want to play...

A center pressing up on a point guard 5 feet beyond the 3pt line is terrible defense. Then with his arms/hands reaching to the floor. Anybody want to explain why is he checking Curry from that far out? :sas1:
"A center".

Ok../but in this case, the defender played good defense...forced Curryto press off him and into a circus shot.
You guys cant even get into a discussion over what we saw...just saying generic shyt like "a center guarding him." That was great D

That's a bad shot and as an opposing coach I can live with it. He's a more efficient Kobe. Kobe would be killed for that. He gotta stop believing his hype.

This reminds me of that one glitch in NBA 2K9 where if you backed off and let someone shoot a wide open three they'd brick it every time.

I ate good off that glitch Had so many online cheesers pissed because their 3 pt strategy wasn't working.

The only thing he could have done to stop that shot was tackle curry before he got it off. nikkas about to hack curry till his arms dont work in the playoffs. If you really trying to win it may be the only way.:francis:

Again, a team has a much better chance of winning by having Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, or Draymond Green attempting to beat then then playing Curry straight up man to man as they continuously do.
