This is perfect!!!! I like my privacy. The neighbors are close but far away to leave me alone. That first house is too close to the other ones and that golf course means too much foot traffic.
Same here and I'm in the SEAbout the same price.
For perspective. My 975 sqft condo downtown Toronto is worth $850k. And has $700 monthly maintenance fee. shyt is bonkers over here.

Dont forget about property taxesDepending on what’s covered and the age/condition of the building that is actually pretty cheap in a big city. For the most part the assessment will cover utilities, cable/internet, access to amenities (gym), and pay for security/doorman and repairs for the building. Think about how much you spend for that shyt already.
In Chicago 1K+ a month even for units worth far less than 850K is very common. At some of the older buildings in otherwise desirable neighborhoods like Hyde Park, your monthly assessment will, not might, be more than your mortgage.

I can't speak on this house' styling/construction but I could def make use of all its space. 5 bedrooms makes sense for a family with kids that has overnight guests. Right now I have a gym in my house, I do a bit of woodwork and music production, wifey records voiceovers and does a lot of video editing.... our place now is like 3500 sq ft, we could easily legitimately use another 1000 sqft no problem. Is it more than we need? Of course, but we can afford itPS...house in OP is ugly as fukk. Can’t believe how much ppl pay for these shytty building kit McMansions. Zero style. Cheap construction. More house than what 99.999% of people actually need. Throwing money down the toilet for upkeep. Disgusting.
I still regret not buying a house with a basement as that would have been perfectDepending on what’s covered and the age/condition of the building that is actually pretty cheap in a big city.
