Portsmouth boring too lol. I enjoyed the lil ferry ride from Waterside to Portsmouth, we would do that and take our daughters to the children's museum, it's a cool ride...

Other than that, Portsmouth really dingy to me. My boss lived in Portsmouth, going to his house once was the only other time I went thru there. Very depressing looking town lol...

Portsmouth has the reputation for being gunners like Nfk cats. I did gear about cats who had the sack there, but Portsmouth also hella small. The downtown area remind me of Petersburg more than anything, and Petersburg for sure is a slaughterhouse...

Regarding Beach hustlers, it's not about going thru other nikkas cities. Other cats from all over the Seven Five come to The Beach to look for shyt, Beach cats have other dudes in other cities slanging they shyt. Obviously this isnt everybody, we all know there's context here. But Peninsula nikkas was hopping that bridge to grab shyt out VB, Nfk and Chesapeake cats too...

But more than anything the vibe in VB isnt so much about killing nikkas as it is about running the bread up. The other cities have a stronger robbery and kill culture than The Beach...

It's on its deathbed, but yeah it's still open. Used to get my haircut there when I first jumped down there. Its dying a slow and torturous death though...

So many cats on here talkin about my city. Grew up across from military circle hella fights in that mall toughest city in the 757 Norfolk has so many different hoods gotta know how to move whether you in ocean view shoop park the old bowling park all the way to the Norfolk side of Berkeley and diggs park.

The city where our slang is from everywhere so you talk to a Norfolk cat you get some New York some down south and some cali. Home of the hustlers pusha t aka gene thronton based his whole life off of Norfolk and still to this day shows love to the real. The documentary is cool but missing hella hoods but I can respect what they were trying to put together .

The food and the women are super slept on but the police presence is something you wouldn't believe. One of two only commonwealths the area is far from country but lacks the big city appeal because everything is based around the military. So much I could say but that's for another time. Booker T

Anybody remembers, Broadways, Upscales, Gary's, Picassos, the Alley? So much fun back then.

I ended up moving to DC in 2004, never loved dc like I did the 7 cities. I use to come back every weekend. I still regret leaving to chase that money.

shyt Broadway used to have cars parked all down that one street back down to damn near Military Highway LOL! The Alley sounds very familiar.
Taking it a little further back... can you remember when there was a movie theater in Janaf Plaza...lol! Anyone remember that and you real throwback "Nawfuk" no doubt. Also..Indian River skating rink used to be that fly shyt...they used to sell pickle juice to drink in there on some real hood shyt lol this shyt is way back though...no doubt...and I will say this... Dream Boyz, Ebony Playboyz, etc.... if ya know then ya know lol

Portsmouth streets are pretty much like Norfolk streets. Back in the 90’s it was way worse. Ida Barbour was probably the most notorious hood in the city, but pretty much everything downtown (what we called downtown anyway), Prentis Park, Southside, Brighton, all the projects, basically the whole inner core of the city was grimy and full of open air drug markets...some other places too.

Portsmouth is a smack city too. It’s always been about the H since way before white people declared an opioid epidemic. I didn’t even know other cities didn’t have heroin like that lol. I thought it was sold on corners in every city until I moved out of state in the early 00’s and cats were like “nah all we got is crack here.”
