This dont make me want to buy a product.
If you got to rely on proctor and fukkin gamble to tell your black son he can be anything he wants you already lost.
This shyt is the exact same as every black history program in elementary schools across the country where they tell you to pick someone and write a paragraph report on them and yall eating this shyt up :dead: its understandable cause this is the result of not having many positive black male images in media, so they can throw out something positive and boom they look like they give af and are geniuses. Its not rocket science.

You wanna know how to actually market to black men? Show them using your products and have black branding. Have products dedicated to black men along with a positive example.
It's a nice "commercial" for the message they showing but this dont make me wanna go out and buy head and shoulders and Vaseline:heh:
U really typed all that :skip:

U sound mad hurt

Fine art like dude in the commercial maybe, but commercial art like comic book type stuff, like the Blacksands breh is doing, I don't see us doing that all that much. Milestone comics was a long time ago. Manga in Japan is a billion dollar industry, there's quite a bit of money there nowadays especially with the advent of crowdfunding.
Ive got nothing against the art industry. We just have no bussiness being the artist itself. You cannot even name more than 2 billion dollar mangakas, but you sure as fck name numerous billion dollar studios like Sega/SqEnix or billion dollar production companies like Kodakawa, each with numerous million dollar positions with a garunteed future. Its no different than creating (or worrking for) a us company like Viacom. This should be the aim for black children.

Its very similar to how the comercial steered the boy away from being an athlete in the field, but instead offered him the option of owning the team or managing players as an agent. Stuff that kid could not even imagine doing because he was thinking so small.

I still stand by my previous comment. We do not need any more artists. We got enough in literally every field from visual arts to music.

(Doing it as a hobby is fine, just not as a profession. Did you know the current ceo of the investment bank, goldman sachs is a touring house DJ? He likes doing it, but This did not stop him from being an investment banker, and doing something that benefits him and his community.)

yeah, this commercial is decadent veil nonsense that promotes "black excellence" without addressing the reasons why black boys think entertainment is the only viable career path
There’s only so much that can be addressed in a 2min spot 🤣

It’s simply a commercial telling Black boys they can be more than entertainers. Nothing wrong with being an entertainer, but only about 1% of those trying actually make it. 100% of people who want to be accountants will achieve that goal if they stay in school. 🤷🏾‍♀️

There's a multibillion dollar industry of turning young black men into sports stars.
When society invests the same money into turning black men into professionals, we will see more black men aspire to have professional careers.

BLACK society must do that. Mainstream society will not because that makes you competition for the other men.

Ultimately this is a game of controlling resources. The day y’all are on equal footing with the white man is the day they will begin bombing Africa/Black nations/Black communities incessantly. Know that.

Becoming an athlete is way easier than becoming a doctor. Way easier. Brain power is harder to achieve than brawn and muscle memory. Yes with discipline and the right coaches you can be an athlete.

And basketball isn't the only sport. Basketball, football, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, hockey, boxing
Becoming a professional athlete is easier than becoming a doctor?

:russ:

And, you’re severely undervaluing the intellectual rigor required to perform at that level.

I don’t know what it’s selling, what does Gillette and oldspice have to do with any of it? I’m not going to that site to find out either. Good short film with a good message that I wish I would’ve heard.

Edit: maybe I’m thinking archaic. It’s a message worth sending and doesn’t need a product attached to it. They need to put this on TV.

Bullshyt

Being a professional athlete is one of the most difficult things to do. Far more doctors and other skilled professionals than professional sportsmen.

If it was that easy, everyone would do it.

It sure is. Y'all nikkas really think most folks will sit down and go through biology? Calculus 3? Differential equations? You'd be a damn fool to pick a Doctor/Mathematician path over sports. That math will have yo ass CRYING

Why do y'all think Black Americans aspire to be athletes over doctors or Nasa engineer? It's because sports way easier
