Durant is not a chucker, and he does not take traditionally terrible shots. He'll even tell you himself he studies his game and dismisses bad shots from his repertoire. His shot selection is excellent. What the hell are you talking about? :russ:

Of coruse he studies his game, but durant takes terrible shots...this can't be argued a

and of course he's extremely efficient

in addition to being the best defensive player on the floor.

I also love how when the topic of Dirk comes up people conveniently leave out the fact that he played with Steve Nash.

Dirk only went to one WCF with nash..and that eyar in the playoffs it Was The Dirk/Nick Van Excel show till Steve Kerr showed up in Game 6 and had a legendary performance.

Dirk Went to the finals twice after Nash..so your point is discounted.

KG on the other hand did nothing before paul pierce and dem

Have yall nikkas only been watching the NBA for the past 5 years? :wtf:

Were you not watching the NBA back when KG was getting raped out of the playoffs consistently?

And just stop with the "Dirk had a better team!!" argument already. 2006 Mavericks NBA Finals team had a starting 5 of Dirk, Devin Harris, Josh Howard, Adrian Griffin, and Erica Dampier. :leostare: Oh, and they won 67 games the next year.

Dirk got to the Finals twice and so did KG. Difference being Dirk didn't have to jump ship and team up with Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Ray Allen. :aicmon:

Name all the All-Stars Dirk had in the post-Finley and post-Nash era that supposedly helped him out a great deal when he lead his team to 7 straight 50+ win seasons. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Oh, and the whole "KG plays both sides!" shyt. Just stop. Dirk is one of only 4 dudes to average 25-10 in the NBA Playoffs ever. EVER. The others being Bob Pettit, The Dream, and Elgin Baylor. I don't give a shyt about KG playing defense, I need buckets and especially big buckets at crunch time in the playoffs. You can find guys like Tyson to plug the middle and protect the rim. Guys who can score like Dirk are once in a generation.

Dirk >>>>> KG

Only Mavs All-Star selections post Nash: bum ass Josh Howard in 2006-2007 and old ass Jason Kidd in 2009-2010 :snoop:

I'm waiting on somebody to show me what exactly KG's amazing defensive skills did for him during his career while he was constantly getting shyt on by Duncan and Dirk in the West all those years.

Meanwhile, Dirk racked up 50+ win seasons like it was going out of style and got to Finals appearances with his best teammate being Jason Terry. And people act like he was playing on an Olympic squad compared to KG:heh:

In the playoffs, Dirk regularly elevates his game to average 25-10. Plenty of games where he even gets 30-10, cause that's what superstars do. What does KG do in the playoffs? Oh that's right, he watches Paul Pierce and Ray Allen go to work. "Bu-bu-bu-but he's playing All-NBA Defense on Pau Gasol!!!" :beli:

Individual defense is great and all, but it's team defense that wins championships across sports. However, in a superstar driven league like the NBA, one potent scorer can singlehandedly take over a game and outscore his opposition, willing his team to victories. Taking that into account, it's Dirk over KG every time. You take Dirk and you only need to fill in defenders around him. You take KG and you still need defenders at other positions AND a go-to scorer.

As for Dirk/KG, One of my all time favorite Playoff ethers was in 2002 1st round Mavs vs Twolves. I remember literally everyone around me going into to that series was saying things to the effect of

"KG>>>>>>>>>>Dirk"
"Dirk is a soft jumpshooter(which is ironic because Thats exactly what KG is just not good at it as Dirk of course)
"KG is going to shut down and embarrass Dirk"

Well then the actual series played out :laff::laff::laff: Dirk flat out dominated KG and swept his ass out of the Playoffs

33/15.7 on 53% from the field/72% from 3:huhldup:. But then people said "But But KG had no help".

:comeon: But The reality was Wally and Chauncey in that series both Averaged 20+ on Better efficiency then KG himself. That series was one of the many examples why dirk is better(the 11' Playoffs sealed it). Dirk can do things on offense Garnett just can't. He can carry teams and put pressure on defenses in the Playoffs In ways KG has never been able to.

Who was guarding Dirk during that series?:mjpls:

I'm also amused by the fact KG is shytted on for losing as an 8th seed, but Dirk gets a pass for losing to an 8th seed.

Winning Championships Have Erased All That For Both Of Them, I Never Met Anyone In My Life Who Clowns KG For Not Being Able To Win In Minnesota

I'm amused that Dirk gets shyt on for "choking" to GSW in 2007, but people seemingly bypass Duncan's loss to the 8th seeded Grizzlies in 2011 when talking about his GOAT status.

But they are here, on this thread, posting freely. Please remedy this.

Nah, we just don't see how people are arguing that KG >>> Dirk when accomplishments, numbers, and everything in between say otherwise.

We know those Minnesota teams weren't all that great, but it wasn't until Dirk won in 2011 that people were willing to give Cuban credit for building solid Mavs teams all those years. Up until then it was "soft" or "choker" Mavericks all those years of 50+ win seasons. :shaq2:

Same guys that laughed and criticized all those Mavericks teams are now pulling Revisionist History after the 2011 title and saying Dirk played on some "great" teams compared to KG's.

KG is a more complete player. Let's not lie and say Dirk is even a remotely decent defender. Sure dirk raped KG 1-1 in that matchup but that's not the sole measure of defensive ability.

THey both have an equal number of Championships, though KG went to two finals at least. THey both have the same number of MVPs, even though KG deserved two. KG has one more DPOY award, and more all nba defense selections.

DIrk just happens to be one of the most unguardable players in NBA history. Bottom line, if I'm picking one of them, it's KG without hesitation.

Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd deserves to be on the list ahead of McGrady and Nash. Everything else seems about right to me.
