Men lived a lot more life at 35. I saw an old picture of a family photo with my dad and my grandparents. He looked the same at 35 like he did at 60.

There also weren’t all these advances in things such as skincare products, men actually caring about having a crisp edge up and well manicured facial hair, etc.

Plus back then, they actually had really high crime rates, explosion of the drug game, fewer cameras everywhere, and the constant threat of nuclear war with the Soviet Union and living WW2 veterans to remind us how awful nuclear weapons are ... all kinds of stressors that we do not have today
