slow down with the cookie cutter speak. the reason its cookie cutter cause dude has been doing it for so long he's a walking template on how to make a hiphop beat. thats not a negative its the highest praise you can have. There are better examples of sample flips...This sounds like the typical cookie cutter Premo beat...
Plus, a smart person could argue that Hip Hop sampling is like poaching...You are killing an elephant just to use the tusks, but don't make use of the rest of the body...
real cute analogy. but naw bruh.
Hiphop is not poaching, because you're not Killing anything. you're actually glorifying the original music. which is why i never understood why people would hate on hiphop(blacks did too. those that played instruments/jazz, etc.). its like everytime you hear these samples. it makes you go look at the inside of the album cover to find out who made it, and what did he sample. the moment you find it. you find the original and fall in love with it. it introduces the young gen to the old gen's music.
but it also bridges the gap between old and young . because old heads would know that sound "hey... i know that song." and they can vibe with it. now you got old heads nodding their heads. the youngins slightly remember it too since their parents use to play these songs in the house when they were kids. your brain remembers the melodies. This is why sampling hiphop or even west coast replaying of great oldschool songs worked so well. where as todays music when dudes are actually making their own songs(even though everyone sounds the same)... no old heads can rock to them really because there's no familiarity with them. this is something i had to learn because i was anti sample when making my own productions since i knew i couldnt afford to pay top dollar for a top sample. now i knew i still liked the sound of it. regardless.
