Honestly it doesnt matter to me.
Dre has done it bigger and better than anyone in hiphop.
Doesnt take alot of studying to peep that dre used alot of loops.
tell that to @Mr.Logic

There are better examples of sample flips...This sounds like the typical cookie cutter Premo beat...
Plus, a smart person could argue that Hip Hop sampling is like poaching...You are killing an elephant just to use the tusks, but don't make use of the rest of the body...

this.this is a terrible fukking analogy and youre an idiot.
who the fukk cares about not using the body when your goal is to create something new ? a producer can hear a sound that isnt even a big part of a record and immediately paints a picture of what it could be once you fit to your vision/style. so its more like taking the tusks and putting them on a new animal you have created. one producer might want the tusks, another may want the trunk. it doesnt matter. 10 producers will hear the same song and youll get 10 different beats.
a producer can make great music with a sound that wasnt anything special on its own until they added their own strings, pianos, bass, voice sample and percussion, etc.... whatever.
Some of the best beats i ever heard were made in the past 5 years...even though the 2010's era producers have alot less to work with...seems to me that they're alot more creative with their beats than alot of producers in the past...not all...but ESPECIALLY compared to a guy like Premo who would just take a sample and loop it without even flipping it or touching it up (like the song in the OP)
There's a higher level of creativity in making beats like THESE than a song like the OP
more sounds
more samples
beat changeups
more compllex drum & bass patterns
And they sound better![]()
For the dumb ass that's arguing in here, I've listened to 100s of the original samples Premo has chopped up, him along with Havoc are the most creative samplers of all time, it can't even be argued. His chopping/sampling game is legendary.
