"Why you so hard on these minimum wage workers! They should be paid more at this job that doesn't give a shyt about them, is working on replacing them with robots, breaks all kinds of labor laws, and will fukk their pay increase lobbying for all kinds of fukked up taxes and inflation increases to rob you, the customer, of your money too".

yeah american workers have been thorougly brainwashed into hating each other and wanting to look down at each other. its really disgusting. even if something actually benefits them, theyd rather not take it, if it means they can still look down on someone. I remember seeing a ton of memes saying like " why should mcdonalds workers make 15 and EMTs make 10?"

and its like, if the min wage goes up, both of you make 15, which is more than you make now. No, theyd rather keep their 10 and have the MC donalds workers make 7.25 just to be able to look down and feel superior to somebody. not to mention if you feel you are skilled labor well if min wage goes up now you should be able to negotiate up your pay based on that. but none of them think that way, its all crab in a barrel mentality.

While I agree its fukked up people look down and hate on others, no one negotiates their pay based on what the minimum wage is. Not only would it be a horrible idea for your own monetary benefit, but you'd get taken advantage of pretty easily. Whether I make 50k/year in salary + benefits or 200K a year, tying my earning power to MW is unrealistic. Jobs don't just magically become comparable because there is an imaginary price floor.

This country has pitted people into different "classes" aka poor/rich, high class/low class, while they continuously destroy the little wealth some of us have. Hating on the next person instead of getting your own and learning how the game works is def some crab in the barrel shyt. But relying on the very politicians who steal your wealth and don't actually help you is just as bad.

This is what it is really. Sad but true.

I had an epiphany about what the game is this year. Our company was only minimally affected by Covid. We made record profits again. Yet every department is short staffed. They shorted everybody on their raises from 3.25 to 2.5 Yet once it came out that we got record profits they took 10 million dollars to buy back stocks while also giving record dividends. So basically instead of reinvesting that profit into the company and either making it right with the employees or even hiring more people to take the stress off the employees they instead just funneled all that money straight to stock holders. It hit me that no matter how hard we work or how much money the company makes we will never see a dime of that money coming back to the workers. I felt guilty for a minute but now happy as hell I stuck them up for a bigger raise.

Sad part is they'll pit workers against each other and we'll bytch about what the next man is making instead of realizing we all should be making a lot more and focusing our attention on the CEOs.

Amazon work is way, way harder than flipping burgers. You work at Amazon and you will be putting in WORK:hubie:

Grown folks shouldn't be working at mcdonald's anyway. That's a teenager job

So who's going to operate the restaurant while the teenagers are in school? Also they are limited in the numbers of hours they can work by FEDERAL LAW. They also can't work after a certain time. So I guess McDonald's would be open from about 1500-2200 M-F and about 0600-2200 on weekends.

I said this shyt YEAAAAAARS AGO on this site and had people coming to argue with me over the wetness of water.

Somehow, stupid people got bamboozled into having faux outrage “Dey using food stamps to buy lobster” dumb ass logic, while being suspiciously silent about corporate welfare and cronies at the top economically raping people.

Theres A PATTERN. I call it the culture of cowardice. Blame the people at the bottom because you too scare to hold the people at the top accountable.

Name any injustice and you’ll find some way to blame the victim to avoid toppling those at the top. Blame families working 40+hrs a week for shytty education system even tho they have to go to work and send their kids away from them for 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week.

Poor people needing financial assistance? Talk out the side of your neck about welfare fraud while banks and corporations get bailouts all the time. Dog whistle about communism and socialism.

As a populace we deserve what’s happening because we keep falling for the okey doke.

Also let the rich slow walk you towards population control and have you parroting dumb shyt about needing to have less kids to save the planet, even though the wealthy in a small amount of countries have a carbon footprint larger than other countries put together.

We did it to ourselves.

people have been taught to think this way

its a reason higher education is out of financial reach for the majority

its nobody's fault for being conditioned to believe in what they believe in

It's not going to work like that breh. When $15.00 becomes the minimum you are going to see hours cut and spread around in a way where people still aint making shyt. McDonald's will have folks working 20 hours instead of 32 or 35. Just watch.

You mean like they've already been doing? Why do you all keep trotting out all these tired ass talking points? Higher prices, cut hours, cut benefits (if they even offered them) automation etc. etc. has already happened at current wage levels.

Look, okay so by your logic if prices go up with minimum wage then if they cut minimum wage will prices go down? Will they give the workers more hours? Hire more? Halt automation? What's that? No? So it seems like this shyt isn't tied to wages paid to the employee but greed felt by the employer.

We have elitist warehouse workers now. fukking lumpers. :heh: They'll literally hire anyone to load or unload a truck just like they'll hire anyone to drive one. Neither is a form of skilled labor and I say this as a truck driver. Someone slap me if I have the audacity to look my nose down at someone on their feet dealing with morons all day while the hardest part of my job is backing up.

The Coli.com y'all. Box Factory Aristocrats. :heh:

No it wasn't. Minimum wage was created give workers a liveable wage. Here's a quote from FDR, the president who instituted the minimum wage:

"No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country.”

“By ‘business’ I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level — I mean the wages of decent living.

Like I said the min wage was created basically to give people fair pay for the jobs they did
