Hate crime legislation sets penalties for attacking people based on race/gender etc. I'm generally against them as their redundant and they essentially create thought crimes. Trump is proposing an office to keep track of crimes committed by undocumented immigrants and to afford special protections to the victims of those crimes. It plays into the idea that undocumented immigrants pose some special threat to citizens which runs contrary to all data on the undocumented immigrant crime rate. It's straight out of Nazi Germany.

:why:
I don't support what Trump is doing.
All I'm saying is they are going to expand hate crime legislation and include a cateogry or citizenship status of offender.
Just watch.

It's so easy to thoughtfully an effectively criticize this bullshyt plan, but then you go and say some hyperbolic nonsense that makes you come off like nothing more than a partisan hack.

Genuine question, what exactly do you hope to achieve from your Coli crusade?

go read his post history. he has been borderline trumpian in his anti-immigrant rhetoric for years too. he's literally bi-polar or a malfunctioning robot.

Nap claims to be coastal elite, but what difference does it make if lives in San Francisco or Nebraska when all he does is sit in his mom's basement and browse Twitter 24/7?

I'm assuming you meant victim...:ld:

So instead of talking about the actual issue in the op you want to rail against mythical legislation absolutely nobody on the left is proposing to enact if and when they regain control of the legislative body?:snoop:

So you admit to misunderstanding what I said, now you want to act like you didn't when if you'd read and asked for clarification you wouldn't even have entered into a convo with me.

Go take a seat kid and get back to me when you can read and comprehend the english language and carry on a logical discussion.

the way they are describing this as being about victims, you would think if you're unfortunate enough to be a victim of a crime that if the perpetrator is an illegal immigrant then you won't see justice because the police will just catch and release or some shyt

4 pages in and ppl still don't realize that VOICE is just there for the victims of crime, and ppl are still arguing against it

the amount of mental gymnastics ppl have to go through to just completely ignore that.

Typical red hat response. :heh:

No, I'm not against helping victims of crime. But the federal government already has a specific statute for helping victims of crime. Why does there need to be a specific program for helping victims of crime by an illegal immigrant? Any specific form of help should be targeted toward particularly vulnerable victims (think women and children) or particularly contemptible crimes (think sex offenses). But why do we need to target aid specifically toward victims of a crime committed by a person not legally here? Not based on the severity of the crime, not based on the vulnerability of the victim, but on whether the defendant has papers or not?

You fell for the okie-dokie, as always. :snoop:
they are taking the money that was already assigned and moving it to the victims instead.

why is that a bad thing?

this isn't new money

you, admittedly, posted a fraction of the legislation.

So no, you don't know the "actual" layout.

Once again, you're a lying sack of shyt.
I posted ALL the information that was for VOICE...and you just proved my point. VOICE is only one part of the issue one part of the full legislation.
let's argue other points..but VOICE?? really thats what you guys have an issue with?

VOICE isn't the issue but you fukking clowns are conflating it all.
