It's popular to shiy on limp bizkit now, but they were insanely popular and made 2 albums at that time that everyone was in on.

Durst was mixing the metal screaming, growling....with being able to somewhat sing like a grunge guy, and then had some rapping ability too.

Regarding Woodstock, Durst actually went out in the crowd and got on a play board surf too when they played Faith. He was having fun, and that Faith performance wqs dope

I feel like it's just white ppl being white ppl. Pent up white teenage rage, but in this setting it went crazy...simply bc it could. A crowd of that many ppl, 70% could been copl, but that other 30% are savage and ruin it

Nah his singing and rapping were awful, man. Those Limp Bizkit songs have some of the WOAT lyrics. I'll give you he had a pretty good scream but he relied on rapping a lot more which he was terrible at.

Listening to the actual lyrics during the show....oof. I don't get how people liked this band at all lol. Even with Wes Borland

This was the death of the rock genre too. Limp Bizkit, Korn, etc were truly the last hard rock/metal(if you can that trash that) that was mainstream. After Woodstock /99 in general when everyone saw how contemptible and pathetic that music was shyt just fell off hard. Ten years later limp bizkit was a joke, kid rock became a far right new age ted nugent(another talentless Detroit crakkka), and Korn was irrelevant. There hasn’t been a single new act in the past twenty years that has broken through

I wouldn't say there weren't any that broke through, rather that rock music was starting to no longer be the dominant genre. There are a couple bands that broke through (Linkin Park and Coldplay off top) buy it still ultimately died a slow bloody death. Most of the bands I listen to are indie or niche as fukk now.

To be honest, most new trendy music movements end up this way. The fan base grows up and finds other music.

Not many ppl are checking for metal bands now, just like the 80s hair bands died out, grugne died out. The list goes on. Limp Bizkit was actually signed to Cash Money/Young money several years ago, LOL. But in general it's amazing how ppl can be on top of the world and then one day nobody gives a damn.

Rap is also amazing bc it has out survived everything when most people feel it would've died the same way. Even subsets like trap has survived longer than it should have

Not even gonna front. When I was in high school I went to a club (don’t even remember how I got in, I had to have been 14 or 15) and they played Jigga My nikka. Hearing a bunch of CACs constantly screaming “nikka” in unison low key made me hate rap music until I went to college.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Lol @ Woodstock ‘99 not being a big deal at the time. Were some of y’all actually alive and cognizant at the time :gucci:? shyt was a huge deal. How tf you think they got half a million people to a damn abandoned Air Force base in NY? The lineup and star power for that time was crazy.

This was at peak level fr fr, they was even tryin to grab that real hip hop audience at one point, and this almos had them in it, I remember this wit meth and cats did not hate it….but the nookie, mtv, they fanbase and eventually them and durst himself would eventually let hip hop heads know, this ain’t for them lol
