Cobain is just a cop out for these cacs. They act like they were headed for world peace with him... Cacs always gon cac. The people who were into the grunge scene are probably still into gay rights and feminism etc..
Word..white male entitlement was a thing even then..its why the riot girl movement was a thing..why bands like Black Flag or Punk music became a thing.

this is real hardcore, kid Rock and limp bizkit SOFT :childplease:

I always loved that line
I met Fred Dursts father when I worked valet years ago. He kept referring to his son as a director:comeon::stopitslime::mjlol:

This documentary was cool. The scene when that man was holding a gas mask talking bout "this going to be priceless in the future" :francis:

My biggest takeaway was crakkkers gone crack. They always crack

I'm trying to remember when that exact shift happened...

When you look back at the decade, there are a quite a few critical events, but it's hard to pinpoint which event had the most effect on the American consciousness. There were so many...

First Iraq War
Rodney King Beating
LA Protests / Riots
Magic Johnson's HIV reveal
Kurt Cobain's death
OJ Trial
MJ accusations
oklahoma massacre
Bill & Monica Lewinsky
Columbine
Y2k coming and what it could bring

you forgot it was also the end of the cold war ( fall of U.S.S.R)/ German wall knocked down as well too

From what I’ve seen most rock fans view RATM as a legitimately great band and don’t lump them in with Nu Metal, especially since they first popped off in the early 90s

As more of a hip hop fan, to me what separates Rage from other rap rock groups is that they actually seemed to embrace and understand the pure essence of hip hop at its best. Like Tom Morrello would emulate a DJ scratching with his guitar while Zack’s lyrics were actually conscious and pro Black, rather than him just copying the over the top macho shyt like Fred Durst was doing

But yeah, I made a thread awhile back about how most of RATM’s white fans, especially the conservative ones, likely didn’t pay attention to or understand their lyrics. A bunch of white frat boys moshing to Malcolm X and Black Panther quotes is hilarious to me

same with POD.

My girl wanted to watch this last nite. Good doc. I was 18 at the time about to start college. Some of the white dudes I ended up playing football with in the fall attended. shyt was a huge culture shock cuz I hadn’t really been around white folks like that. Team was split 50/50 white and black. We used to fight over the radio. Us blacks wanted to play Mobb Deep and the cacs always wanted to hear that Limp Bizkit bullshyt
:heh:

Watching this shyt took me right back to those days and those wild ass cacs who didn’t know how to act

I remember begging to go to this, I was a very young adult and my family wouldn’t even let me go. I was going to spend my own money, I wasn’t old enough to book a hotel so I tried strong-arming my stepdad who rarely said no to me. The news reports on this were not kind. I had no idea it was this bad until I watched the documentary.

No. Podcast '99.

Podcast 99

All free.

Sorry I keep referencing the pod, but The Offspring performed Friday and noticed the crowd treating the women like shyt and said something to the crowd about it. Sheryl Crow kinda did too but the crowd would just be like "show your t*ts"
It hurt me to see how old the Offspring now look. I was legit hurt, I know I’m youthful for my forties but I pray my fifties won’t hit me like that. Yikes.
