So?

Listen to the music, that'll "explain the Luda and Screw influence".
Hell, Luda had 3-6 production on those albums.
My whole point in the thread is that influence has to be judged in context.

I don't know shyt about DJ Screw, so you'll have to break that down for me if you're so inclined.

Luda got a couple beats from them on one album. Outside of that, I don't see a strong 36 influence. I'm not saying he wasn't a fan, I'm not saying there's absolutely zero influence, but strong influence? I don't see it. I need to see an explanation.

I'm putting them over Wu. Of course I respect anyone with Wu in their top 3..

But their influence and impact on the culture isn't as prevelent or relevant right now and it didn't last as long

Three 6 has had just as much.. If not more impact than Wu globally

I could pull videos of trap music from Chinese artists African artists European artists

Who was the white boy who was doing drill music last fall :bryan:

"Once you see it.. You can't unsee it"

I fukk with Three Six heavy but you can't put them over Wu breh. Not happening.

I'm just saying there's crazy obscure shyt that's been put online, with all these German investors im saying how unlikely it is that the biggest group outta there has shyt that's never seen the light of the internet.
I'm not saying it's not possible though and that would be huge news to a lot of Memphis heads if you put it up.
@Master Teacher

I still a link to that first tape

how "real" hip hop fans will down the fu*k out of Keefs influence and laugh in your face if you dare claim Keef is more influential than a "real hip hop" rapper & prop up guys like Kendrick for "pushing the culture forward" (wtf does that even mean) and being so influential while not having any peers copying his sound meanwhile there and hundreds of Keef clones. I hate how rap fans can lack that objectivity and recognize & give props that are deserved because some moralistic real hip hop idealism that gets in their way to be objective and see shyt for what it i

So basically we shouldn't have standards?
If something is popular it's good?

they weren't ahead of their time at all. especially considering how they milked their beef with the most popular rap group in the game at the time, to get their name up and ultimately get their deal.

they came at a time when bone had the dark beat/double-time chit POPPIN. another reason why yall are giving 3-6 way too much credit.

3-6 mafia just didn't have THAT CHIT. no excuses. that's why they weren't as big as yall wish they were.

but they laid some groundwork for other people to build on.......granted, they didn't father as much stuff as yall are trying to credit them for, but they had their influence.
theyre just nowhere near top 3 with it. more like top 20-25.
so you telling us you could name 25 groups that are more influential to the current sound that's used currently :mjlol:

The point is y'all lack objectivity. Have your opinion all you want on the actual music. But when it comes to the influence a lot of y'all moralistic hip hop fans just aren't objective in the least

just because someone adds a southern element of their music, that means that theyre influenced by f*ckin 3-6 mafia now?

you dudes is weirdos man. i cant f*ck wit too much of this thread no more.

go get some daylight breh.
:russ:
I need to see receipts on these claims now. I was taking people at their word, but this is going to far. They were moderately popular in real time but somehow changed life as we know it. :ohhh:
