Hence why it's really not at all suprising that Juicy J was able to have such a huge comeback if you consider the fact that Juicy J & Three 6's music/production in the early 90s and even in the 00s was really so fu*king ahead of it's time
this somg song still sounds fresh as fu*k & up to date compared to a lot of the music other places were putting out at the time
The ethereal production style on this song is what mad rappers love & chase after these days
Memphis rap (and Texas as well) & three 6 birthed all this demonic & chillwave sounding trap & drill sh*t..
Raider Klan
ASAP Mob
Team Sesh
$uicideboy&
Playboi Carti (indirectly..his production)
Lot of these hipster rappers
Even some dudes like Herb & Kodak have songs with obvious Three 6 Mafia influence wether it be a sample or just a beat that sounds like some Three 6

puff became the biggest star in music before 3-6 mafia had a hit record.
and going by your criteria, puff was well-known YEARS before that. 3-6 mafia wasn't.
people who brushed off my comment about them being nowhere near top 3, need to realize that rap was around LONG before puff daddy blew up.
mista dont play vs mystic styles....meh iunnoI still listen to 3-6 damn near everyday
But the Project Pat albums from back then are better than the 3-6 albums
Everybody knows it but nobody wanna admit it.
Your original post
My post was in regards to Three 6 Mafia being formed way before Puff Daddy stepped foot in a studio to rap. Puff was well known before they had a hit....well known as a "producer". They both had hits in 97 btw. Puff at the top of the year, and Three 6 at the bottom of the year. Proofread your posts before you hit 'post reply'.

But it does. It just doesn't fit the narrative that people run with (especially here on The Booth). Young Jeezy and Gucci are erroneously credited with taking trap rap mainstream all while overlooking T.I. Then, Shawty Redd is credited with pioneering sound. That's why you have Master P and several Southern rappers completely written out of the narrative. DJ Toomp, who pretty much gave T.I. a sound credits Master P's "Bout It II" and "Break Em Off Somethin" with musically influencing records like T.I.'s "Dope Boyz". Toomp drew from the production on those songs to produce records like "Dope Boyz" for T.I.
They Have an Oscar.... Crunchy Black, has an Oscar... marinate on that for a while, then start posting again.
Three six has been more influential that wutang that's for sure!
Ain't nobody tryna listen to grown men talking bout picking roaches out they cereal![]()

Three 6 and Memphis as a whole should have had a run like Atlanta had in the early 2000's. Shady business practices and all them dudes beefing like it's the Royal Rumble down there really held their whole city back.
THEE most influencial southern group, idc about top 3 they laid the groundwork for alot of hardcore southern rap
flows
beats (both the percussion and the sampling sources, and the dreamwave feel of shyt like Porno Flick)
rappin about hardcore drugs
legends. Pat gotta be honored being Pimp and Gucci's GOAT
THEE most influencial southern group
I hate people belittle Triple 6 to the South. You can make the debate of Wu vs Prophet Posse/HCP for the Greatest Rap Camps ever. Three 6 Influenced Dipset and they even admit it.
Chapter 2: World Domination is a classicInfluence has to be evaluated in context. No classic album has resulted from a strong 36 influence.
Therefore, their influence in irrelevant in a way.
