Ghost's label didn't have the pull/leverage to get her for the video.
Always felt that it worked out better for Ghost. This was one of those career changing songs. With Mary in the video, this becomes a bigger hit/Grammy nominated song and he reaches one hit wonder level to pop culture.

To me, I liked it because it broke the tension of the song. Real life shyt, during the hardest times or thinking back to the roughest times......you can find something to smile or laugh about .
I guess... Maybe it's just me...
