i literally said this shyt a year ago to tha exact dayEverybody knows mtown started the trap shyt, but since most artists got no love from the major music labels in memphis, they had 2 go to atown 2 get sum recognition, n atl just put a label on it n made it theirsfrom the beats 2 the flows it all started in memphis. Before there was migos there was lord infamous, before gucci mane there was project pat. Hell u could make a solid argument tht drill music got its roots in old memphis music, just based on its dark themes/vibe n content

Exactly. The first time I ever heard the word trap as it relates to drug dealing is from Ghetto Mafia.somebody tweet him a ghetto mafia video and say "1997"
No. Triple 6 dis not start trap music. Period. So he kept the same sound, called an album that and now he's the originator? That makes absolutely no sense. Wasn't 8Ball & MJG on Trap Muzik? Matter of fact, Trap Muzik didn't even sound new and fresh, it sounded like a 1/2 mid-90s 8Ball & MJG album, and 1/2 late 00's NOLA tracks.
All of those that popularized (and later named) Gangsta Rap say that they got it from Philly. The sound slightly changed since then, but they still acknowledge the originator, even though it had no name. Trap Muzik is the Memphis sound. He didn't create a new sound, he didn't alter it, all he did was brand it.

He should. Karma lolGucci gone say he has a tape of tip talkin down on him to his wife
Down wit the king pt deuce
Exactly jeezy wasn’t even a factor when he was cloningMan it's some weirdos in here. Memphis didn't start trap music. UGK was using the 808 and talking dope selling before Eightball and MJG who were before 3-6. So no, the sound didn't originate from Memphis nor the content. Influenced.....definitely. Much respect to the Memphis music scene. We was all raised on that in the A.....but we was also raised on Texas shyt, Miami bass shyt and West Coast shyt. One big melting pot and different styles came from that. My nukka Gucci didn't start it and no Jeezy didn't create a lane for him because you can say he brought Jeezy to the forefront with the song Icy. Jeezy was getting ZERO radio play before that. T.I. Ain't start it....he coined the term. He basically just claimed some shyt that already existed. That's some Christopher Columbus shyt.
