why do yall keep saying this like $10/month is a bad deal to access everything you want? i get some of yall are young, have no jobs, no kids, no lives, spending hours downloading to your computer and uploading to your phone/ipod/the cloud is fun, that shyt been played since the turn of the decade...that shyt takes too much time.

i had a 500+ CD collection stolen in 2007, i do not care to buy all them cd's again nor download all the albums, especially when i i'm only listening to 1-2 songs from the nutty professor soundtrack once every two years - why take up space and time with that shyt? i can access a countless amount of albums, listen radio, follow others' playlists, discover new music, revisit OLD music, keep it on my phone, etc. with no ads for $10 month.

some of yall are either broke, cheap, or too concerned about being "cool" on the net. i get not paying for it if you're happy with free streaming or if you seriously want to "own" the music...but to act like $10 for access to 25 million songs is some ripoff is laughable. you waste more going to the movies and only get to enjoy it for those 2 hours

I brought this point up with my mans earlier. The artists still lose. As an artist, why would I pay the costs to record a full album, if only 3-4 my songs are in high rotation? That's the singles percentage per album, but in recent history when have singles ever physically sold? They haven't moved units since 45s, outside of the label push for soundtracks/commercials etc.

But since they'er contractually obligated for albums, they still have those costs. In the end, them making $.0000007 off a single stream isn't gonna matter that much. ALSO, Tidal isn't going to have every album. They're gonna have the same albums you find everywhere else, but let's say I want to listen to Prince Paul - A Prince Among Thieves or Shyheims Greatest Story Never Told, Ram Squad Thee Album Regardless, TIDAL's not gonna have that ish. They'er gonna have the popular artists as always. It's gonna be Industry A-List vs everybody else.

You're right that no service will have ALL albums, but Tidal's collection, especially in terms of independent music, is pretty expansive. I keep seeing indie artists on Twitter surprised by their music being on Tidal when its not on other services.

I just searched and it actually does have A Prince Among Thieves, no GSNT, but two other Shyheim albums, and no Thee Album, but 4 Ram Squad albums, 3 of which are Best Of CDs that include some of the songs from there. They expanded their catalog big time since the purchase. I tried it like 3 months ago and it didn't have nearly as much as it does now, especially in terms of videos.

I haven't got it yet, but why is nikkas hating on nikkas getting money? I rap & am a student of the game so I understand it. Artists don't like Spotify because they don't get bread from it. So I don't support it. They will/do get bread off Tidal. Y'all nikkas is mad corny. Salute to Hov & nikkas who ain't corny

I guess there' that, too--i.e. people who download music without paying. (That was my former life :francis:)

Generally, I'm apart of the breed that buys CDs and vinyl and listens to streaming music for free on Pandora, Spotify, and Amazon. What is the benefit to our ilk of renting music? :ld:

Netflix, red box, and block busters before hand were/are successful as rental services...just saying.

Cable TV is rent...you don't own the shows.

napster changed the game and so did mini disc to record streaming audio.

If artist want money get advertisers and sponsors. If you rapping about brands get those brands to pay you for mentions. Sign to Budweiser records and shoutout them out on the album for a check. music is an advertising vehicle. You can still be authentic, but the revenue stream should come from sponsors imo.

The road less traveled.
Not impressed used my beats and the sound started to crackle in left ear. Canceled trial immediately after. Would never pay all that money for that service. I was however a fan of the GUI (Graphical user interface) very user friendly and the old school iPod media player look was cool. Overall I'll stick with my Xbox music subscription 10 a month.

But, then they can check you on what you rap about. You make money, but, you lose your artistic integrity. Corporations are doing what you wrote with artists now, and may be why we don't really hear deep social raps, they are threatened to not do it or they will lose sponsorships.

If the sound distorted that means its your fault most likely. I see you used beats wireless, and if I'm correct, it works by Bluetooth. Bluetooth isn't made to handle high quality audio. They are releasing a new version that will be able to handle high fidelity music. I can't wait for that!

I'm not sure and I could be wrong but some bluetooth headphones have restrictive limits on the quality of the audio stream.

So far I've read that Beats Wireless can handle Lossless, but I would still use a wired headphone just for listening to Lossless Audio.
