That shyt adds up tho... :dahell: No one would pay if there's a free alternative...

there is a free alternative...you could take the time to download and upload the music you want 2 your device.

or you can pay 10 bucks a month (120 a year) to have pretty much every song you want on your device. Music has been so devalued that some people think paying 10 bucks a month to have access to 20million+ songs is a bad deal. Thats a great deal.

As someone else said conveience = $$$$. 10-20 bucks is well worth the convenience apps like spotify provides and if have a half decent job that $$$ is really nothing in the grand scheme of things

Tidal will fail, simply because its too expensive. When Apple, Google, and Spotify selling their services at 1/2 the price, they are already out of the game before they even start. These artists need to negotiate better deals with spotify. As these major streaming services are going NO WHERE.

Yea, i'm starting to feel your argument. Music is such a big part of all our lives, paying for it doesn't seem so bad if you want to support the artists. And it is really convenient to have so many songs in your reach without having to search high and low. I'll give Tidal a try. I do enjoy the free spotify service, but if tidal does have better sound quality and proves itself as a platform that provides a better listening experience, i wouldn't mind paying.

If Google music would allow you to change the colors, it'd be dope. Instead of the white/orange layout, let us use other colors.

That and they need to up their speed b/c Spotify takes ZERO time to load a song. Google music has to sit there and spin sec.

yeah it's not the most aesthetic of the services and the mobile app is kind of a hassle

i like being able to upload my stuff, really frees a lot of space on my phone

But i already BUY albums why am I paying for a streaming service.... I use amazon music, once i buy the album i own it. I have the option to download it, make a hard copy or keep it in the cloud on the servers or i can stream it. But when im driving id rather just play it like a normal jukebox....

the thing is like i said if your that gullible to pay for a streaming service $20 a month, you deserve to get got... everyone wants the better deal, this aint it... :birdman:

thats partially why i got rid of netflix... that shyt kept putting little dents in my pockets and it just added up this was before they had theyre shows on and the library selection was horrible.:heh:

and then i found a free alternative threw netflix to the bushes...:heh:

how you gone have superior sound coming out your cell phone
and using non professional headphones:mjlol:

I can't wait to see people try to brag about having the Top Tier Tidal, yet see them playing it off their phone, through stock earbuds, or bluetooth speakers.

That top tier was originally developed for people who rock amps, dacs, and head-fi level headphones, yet it'll be sold partially as a way to "support your favorite artist better" to the common folk who know nothing of that audiophile world. :mjlol:

It'll be like Beats Headphones where you can just spot someone wasting their money.

thats the end goal ultimately right? that artists get better deals. but without the alternative being offered by Tidal, what incentive does Spotify/beats have? from what i heard, apple was tryna cut a deal with the labels to undercut spotify by 20%. think about that, apple wanna give the artists even less money. but the labels refused. labels pissed at this point. they wanna see more money. they are actually anti-spotify etc.

what would really fk the game up though is if other artists also startted their own streaming services. imagine taylor swift, timberlake, drake forming their own? but apple might just give them money upfront to buy them off, but if we get 3 or 4 more streaming companies from other celebrity musician cartels, spotify and apple gonna be boxed in. they wouldnt lose their position, they would be hella less powerful though.

Listening to it on my macbook and the sound is pretty dope

Homoerotic tendencies and blindness caused by dikkriding and living vicariously thru another mans pockets brought an influx of new era audiophiles.

Well...not exactly actual audio....philes. More like.... pedo.

:pacspit: at anyone older than 13 talkin bout "sound quality" of this streamin shyt. You people are mind numbingly stupid.

If you have a descent set up or have invested in some descent quaity headphones/earphones then once you hear the higher quality its really hard to go back to spotify...

If yo just using the stock apple earbuds that come with your phone or some 15.000 skull candies, stick with spotify, its that simple.

People who care about audio fidelity see the value in this type of model....people who don't....don't.

Do you have all music in world at your disposal on your phone? Do you have an app just recommending related artists, shyt you might like and on when you are tired of your own library? Do you have to waste x amount of hours per month on downloading and transferring music? Even if you only waste 2 hours per month you could work an hour extra per month and pay for Spotify+Tidal :sas1:.

People pay for simplicity and time management.

What's crazy is for people who know how to record the streaming music, such as I, its crazy to know you are only paying $20 a month for millions of songs that you can still have a hard copy of, and use for your DJ sets, or whatever you want to do with them.

Being that tidal audio is in 16 bit, 44.1khz, that means I can have good clean high quality source of music always at my disposal to record, in 24 bit, 96khz. Just by adding a few effects, I can enhance the sound of the CD quality file, and make a good HiFi recording. Or I can just leave it at 16 bits 44.1 kHz, which is CD quality, so it will still sound good. You can't do that with mp3's, and other low bitrate files. I don't think young people understand how big this is, it is a game changer for music lovers, and artists because now you can make money directly off of your music, without playing the kiss ass game of old with record labels. And the quality can stay high. Its a beautiful era we are living in people:wow:

That's a dope option for audiophiles, I can't really claim that I'm an audiophile.
I also have a feeling that Spotify's next task will be to add FLAC content, this is really an interesting market and everyone knows (should know) from economics 101 that competition is good for consumers. It's an interesting market, the biggest software company vs the biggest tech company vs the founders of the market vs the artists.
