this is why the streaming service is a FAIL. here you have over 100 million twitter/facebook followers on one stage, they're telling their fans they support and are behind this service

and people STILL said "hell no!" :mjlol::yeshrug:

what jay is learning is that the business side is run by power nerds that study algorithms and psychology, you can't just flash CELEBRITY at people and expect them to spend money..

I think Jay's biggest issue is TIDAL seems like it's strictly marketed for Urban Consumers. I see exclusives from Nicki & Rihanna & Jay, etc... but what if you don't care about them? What if you like Rock Music? Country?

Jay is really banking on him & Beyonce's popularity being the drive behind Tidal & he might be a little delusional to think people care that much about them...

good point. he had a diverse showing at his "gathering of the greatest artists of all time" event. might want to tap into that deadmouse, daft punk, chris martin connection instead of thinking the country is waiting for that new nicki minaj single
now that video on the other hand :shaq:

that's why his freestyle got me really upset. using dead people to shift blame is about the most shameless move i have seen jay pull in forever.
Yeah yet you got nikkas on here talking about "Hov bodies the music industry" with that freestyle :dead:

the internet
i've alredy mentioned the "haters". or c00ns. or whatever word of the day you want to label them as. that doesnt take away from the fact that the product is inferior to its competition, hence its slow progress and it being used as target practice by everyone.

calling people who arent defending jay c00ns is a copout. he'd be better served not marketing a medicore product plastered with rich faces with no mention of the products actually abilities while equating his multi-million dollar schemes to the deaths of black men across the nation
fam its a new company...every new company starts off slow and makes adjustments based on the feedback they get.

and Jay wasn't equating his situation to black men dying...he was pointing out the widespread disrespect for black people...in all arenas of life.
The focus on Tidal is something you rarely see.
It doesn't make sense.

People just don't want to see someone win all the time.

failure? its been like 43 days....No tech company flies out the gate...

people need to realize, it can only get bigger, jay owns artists,im actually surprised it took him this long ...

as I stated, jay was too honest and open in that press conference but it doesn't change the fact that every exclusive that drops will have the "tidal" mention as the title of the song trends worldwide

what jay did was smart, gave the artist equity,so if they want to see some $$,then they have to push it,just like jay is doing...

everything is "high end" these days...its just where the world is going, sadly

people keep saying" it offers the same service yet I have to pay more...:scust:"

If you say that then Id like to know if that applies to everything you buy.....
You're first statement is actually not true. Plenty of tech start-ups fly out the gate. And Tidal's been around for years. Nobody wanted it then, so why should anyone want it now?

Jay was "smart" in giving equity to the artists if his only goal was to curry favor with the artists, but that's not going to do shyt to make you average person sign up for Tidal.

Seems like you want this shyt to fail Just as much as the cacs.

I wonder why.

This service needs to be worth the price

If he includes more than music.. Then it might be..people want behind the scenes type access now...they wanna be at the concert, the after party, the hotel, the airport

Kim kardashian figured it out and sold these b.tches a dream..people want to live vicariously through their stars

If it's going to succeed
All the artists on there have to take ownership and only deliver their content only through Tidal..

The problem with that is in 2015 there is no such thing as exclusivity

And the content is not as valuable because there are many other things to do with your time

no one actually fly out the gate within the first month,it just doesn't happen like that ...

tidal hasn't been out for years....

why would anyone want it now? well have we not seen a boost when it comes to users?.....ppl are joining, and people will keep joining

he gave them equity to make them be more hands on but also give tidal such exclusive releases...

jays concert wasn't the first and wont be the only one streamed on tidal

It does not matter because most people do not care and they have the marketing dollars to fight that battle, TIdal does not. Second, Tidal is backed by celebrities with public images that can be directly attacked and their lives can be picked apart. The idea of criticizing the CEO of Interscope for his lifestyle does not exist. Consumers do not have that personal relationship with him. The very appeal of giving Tidal a chance came from the interest those celebrities generated so if you attack their character and motives it works because people actually care about who the people they support are when it is an artist. The critiques against Tidal would not, and have not worked against Apple and others. It's a brilliant smear tactic becaue instead of defending the product, they have to defend their very person hood.
So then maybe they should have marketed the PRODUCT instead of themselves?
That's their own fault for choosing such a ridiculous way to market their streaming service. That doesn't make it a smear tactic any different from the smear campaign that competing companies launch against their competitors EVERY DAY. They find your weakness and exploit it. That's Tidal's fault for putting their weakness upfront and center and misjudging it as a strength. This is business.

Yeah, you don't know what you're talking about at all. Tidal has been out for years. It was founded in 1998 under "aspiro". 500K of Tidal's current 700K subscribers come from that original era before "Tidal, Jay-z". They sold it because it wasn't succeeding.
