Who ever has the best service. I've been paying for Spotify for a couple years - all my friends are on Spotify and the service keeps getting better. From a service perspective Tidal seems like a copy-cat service which hasn't improved on the service in any way.... except if I wanted to spend twice the amount for Lossless.

I use Google Music, but I'm still in the free trial period for premium Spotify. Since my PS4 supports in game streaming with Spotify now, I'm tempted to keep it and dump google music. my problem is that I'm still finding more of the shyt I want in Google Music than Spotify.

Tidal definitely is copycat and the vast majority of Spotify users are free users. He's trying to get the premium Spotify, Google Music cats to switch to Tidal and there is just no need to for those customers unless you give them something better. Spotify isn't that dumb to kill their freemium service, but if they do, it could be the opening Camel needs.

Right now though in the current environment, Tidal has to do something better to stand out from the competition.

That's most peoples grip with it though, most articles are talking about how he presented it the wrong way. He came out the gate talking about how great the service is for "artist". It's like people on here keep skipping over that. shyt I don't even know what the owner of Spotify looks like, Yet Jay presented the image of it being about him and other artist. NOBODY in this thread have disagreed with the message of the article. They just keep on saying "It's because he's black" and "worst thing in music history".

Its funny, nobody in here are actually defending the product, they are defending Jay-z. Which says alot to me. I'm a programmer, which without us you wouldn't have anything on the app stores, but whens the last time you've seen

I'm in the tech field and all of those companies have been talked about in a bad way, in the 90's Microsoft was the worse company in the world. You guys are just now hearing about this type of stuff because Jay-z is involved.

No one is skipping over the presentation. They are are wondering why Tidal is getting treated unfairly. Articles calling out the presentation and motivation is one thing. All the other shyt is just random nonsense. Even with the presentation, all these geek ass presentations in Silicon Valley are all the same. People saying how they are changing the world, I.e. for someone who studies capital movement; sales pitch to increase the wealth of their owners. From my impression they are doubling the pay per stream to artists, which is good for the artists. They are also providing competition, which is good for the artist. I couldn't care less though, I'm trying to maximize my life. If it was easier to download I would still be doing that. If Beats music is better than Spotify I'll change to that etc.

I did not mention Microsoft or history I'm talking about the exact same product, to keep the comparisons relevant. People hate Microsoft for their monopoly type of dominition. That's completely irrelevant to this discussion.

No one is disagreeing because nothing is being said. People don't want to pay for music, just like they don't want to pay for healthcare if they could get it for free. Just like few people wanting to make music for free. I can't agree or disagree. I'm wondering why people are just now starting to hate on streaming and not even mentioning the other companies. That's the only thing I'm wondering.

And I don't know what you are talking about regarding the allocation of advertising budget for programmers

The service is providing EVERYTHING they advertised when it first came out (exclusive content, videos, free tickets for shows) and yet there are some dumb ass motherfukkers asking what tidals offers more than Spotify... are you fukkboys really that dense ?? And you dont have to pay extras for the exclusives.
The price is the same as the other streaming services and yet people are only focusing on the 19.99 tier which serves no purpose if you arent an audiophile or if you dont have the equipment. I tried it cause i have the equipment required to enjoy the looselss shyt and its damn crisp.

All they have to do is let their library grow and they will have more subscribers.

This may be dumbest post in here. Since when does every black owned business have to be a charity? Folks are just inventing new ways to slander and hate on this man at this point. First it cost more than 100k to run and sustain a grocery store let alone a chain of them plus Jay-z is a musician so this business is in line with his field of work. Tidal is a black owned streaming service. There are only a handful of streaming services out there. If you want a grocery store or black media service then put your own money up and start one.
