dude shut up :heh:

Rodman was 6'7" and 215 lbs and was guarding point guards and guys much bigger than him. Barkley gave NO effort on defense and was proud about that.

He could have been a decent defender too considering his athleticism, long ass arms, and strength but chose not too. Stop :cape:ing.

such a typical jplaya revisionist post.

I gave out so many daps in chea...

But yo - if you put Timmy as a 5 (which you should), the greatest PFs are (in no order):

Karl Malone
Moses Malone
Barkley
McHale

How in the fukk you gonna call Tim Duncan a center and then try and put Moses Malone as a power forward?

It's really a worthless distinction IMO, only argued so vehemently on the ":damn: I swear 'fore god he's a power forward" side of things so they can be arbitrarily deemed the GOAT power forward...in practical terms, since the day D-Rob retired there's really not been much of an argument to made on points that mean much of any fukking thing in terms of what he actually does on the court...that distinguishes Tim Duncan's game or style of play from what is typically and almost exclusively considered by everybody to be that of a traditional NBA center...on offense he's been the Spurs unquestioned low post #1 scorer...on defense he's their chief rim protector and the anchor of the defense...I mean, we're at a point now where the pf/c distinction is almost completely done away with...but if you're classifying it by like traditional archetypes, to me Duncan more closely resembles the "prototypical center" than he does the "prototypical power forward"...anchors the defense...has a good jumper, with range...but whose offense is still mainly based on a pivot post game and just overall hooks and what not in the paint...malone and barkely both strike me as more purely traditional 4's, with more a focus on a face up game that advantage of their athleticism whereas Duncan relied more on his size and footwork via the post game :manny: ...we like to use the ambiguous term "big man" today...and have no qualms throwing Duncan in there under that umbrella...but nobody really considers Chuck or Malone "bigs", or at least I don't and don't see a lot of others doing it either...it's because it ain't really shyt but a euphemism for a modern day "center"

To this day, I don't understand why the 6'11 260 lbs Tim duncan won't play center full-time? It was reasonable for him to be a PF when he first came to the league since the Spurs had a Hall-of-famer center already.

He has size advantage on all the forwards he played against.

Pau Gasol has those same advantages, so does KG, nobody calls either centers. Pau has a softer version of Duncan's game, yet he's almost never called a C, despite spending more minutes at C than Duncan and he's taller too.

Only Duncan gets that label because people don't want him to be the "GOAT PF" over bum ass Karl Malone or the Honorable Sir Charles, because they have fond memories of them.

:heh: Muh'fukkas were routinely calling Pau "the best center in the league" during the lakers last back-to-back titles..he gets called a center ALL THE TIME with ZERO pushback from anybody...spent the majority of his stint in la playing center with Odom playing the 4...plays center in international play...he really only moved to "power forward" during Bynum's last season on the lakers and this year with Dwight...and truth be told, a huge part of the reason he's been struggling since that time is because in reality playing him at the 4 ain't really shyt but a two-center line-up that he has no real business playing in...he doesn't have athleticism to play the position defensively, nor the jumper or face up game to play it offensively...

:usure:

They were calling Pau the "best big man" in the league, the distinction of being the best center was owned by that corny nikka Dwight. The Lakers lost to the Celts with Pau at the 5, they won with him at the 4, nobody was calling him the best center in the league bruh, stop it.

This is :mindblown: to me. Like people are really trying not to crown this man the GOAT PF. They are doing everything they can to argue against it. The hate is very strong. I guess KG is a center . Chris Bosh is a center. Pau Gasol 7'0 260 and played center in long stretches so he must be a center. Amare played alot of center so i guess he's a center.

Edit: anybody can see Karl is being salty as hell. This the same dude that left MJ outta his top 5.:mjpls:
