Same goofs will talk about how great of a producer Pharrell is and will go as far as call a full on Neptunes production a Pharrell track knowing full well it was Pharell AND Chad.

I'm not saying Chad didnt do anything, but every Pharrell track says written, produced, and arranged by Pharrell.

Pharrell has been making gigantic hits alone the past 15 years and Chad hasn't done anything to my knowledge. Why is that?

Chad may have been good at adding little things, but Pharrell has been super consistent and was likely the brain power all along

There was a dude called "J Que" that was in The Clutch, at the time.

He was doing a lot of writing and production with Keri Hilson back then. They worked on 'Icebox" for Omarion.

And like you said, a hit record is everything. It can make your entire career to be credited properly. Saint Denson is the dude that actually produced "Good Times" for Styles P. Knew Swizz from high school, so he gave the beat to Swizz and Swizz took the credit and no one ever knew who Saint was. And even after suing and coming out and tellin your story, your moment is gone. Dude said if people knew he did that beat, his whole career would've been different. And that's true. You get lucky enough to get a big record, you need people to know you did it because that's what brings all the other placements.

Yeah J-Que is a dope writer, but he's not a producer, as far as I know . Matter of fact, he explains Icebox on here.

I actually caught this episode a few weeks ago. I love what Tank is doing with this. You saw what Que was saying about his writing for Usher? No one knew he did that sh*t.

But yeah, The Clutch was producing a million things. J Que was always like the lead writer/producer of the collective, in my opinion. Super talented.

Well, Chad is also suing Pharrell for not crediting him on songs they've done together. This is why Kelis said Chad needs to "grow a pair". Because according to Chad, he's been doing sh*t with P and the credits say Pharrell is the only one on these records. He also said he's suing to figure out why he's not being paid for the N.E.R.D. merch that Pharrell was selling, but he hasn't seen any bread from.

Industry Rule #4080.

And this is what I'm getting at. How is it, we call Pharrell the brains and Chad just gets hit with "being hood at adding little things", but ya'll will give entire credit to relative no names like Danja (even when he amittedly tells us all he did was add little things) and discredit a Timbaland and Dre for what you're giving Pharrell credit for.

Pharrell alone was nowhere near as dominant as that 2002-2005 Neptunes run. After 2013's "Blurred Lines" and 2014's "Happy", list other gigantic Pharrell solo hits. Other than those, I'd say 2006's "Money Maker" by Luda and Gwen Stefani's "Wind It Up".

But they got credits. In what world would a producer play beats in front of an audience, tell you they are submissions, and then give himself credit. Come on.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I even joined forums because people were sold on this idea that anyone who did co production work was actually responsible for the entire production. You had people thinking Mel Man and Scott Storch were making beats for Dre. People discredited Dre's entire existence. Did the same with Timbaland saying Danja made all those beats. Then when you look at what these guys accomplished on their own l, it doesn't compare to what they did when they worked with a Timbaland or Dre. Why?

And the goofiest part about it, the people who say these co-producers did all the work, never even checked for their work like that prior or even after. And the goofiest part about it, they are silent when they see a Dre or Timbaland on a co-production or additional production and never claim they did all the work. Same goofs will talk about how great of a producer Pharrell is and will go as far as call a full on Neptunes production a Pharrell track knowing full well it was Pharell AND Chad.

I'm not saying Timbo can't work his way around the studio..

What I am saying is rappers and producers alike, when they need to reinvent themselves, start looking at new talent they can "latch" on to..

The problem begins when said producer hears something that has potential and starts getting "funny" with publishing and credits....

The issue with that is the term latch. Maybe they aren't latching onto anything and are actually trying to mentor new talent like any great should. That's the problem. Looking at it from a negative lens instead of the positive one or even the middle ground.

J. Cole just gave the story of how he saw Timbaland make a beat on Twitch. Cole wanted that beat, but Tim lost the file and had to recreate it. There are co-producers credited on the track as well.

Saint Denson is definitely credited in the liner notes for the album
